Model Gallery 2019: 1/72 WWII Aircraft and Vehicles by Roman Schilhart

Recommended Posts

Dear fellow Britmodellers,

the past year has been very productive in terms of completed models.

(This indicates I should probably go out more and socialize, but I prefer the solitude of my workbench over a night in a noisy club or bar. Seems to be a matter of age, as I turned 50 in May.)

Here's my round-up of 2019, all models photographed by Wolfgang Rabel.

1/72 Tamiya Focke Wulf Fw-190D

1/72 KORA Focke Wulf Fw-190 F9 "Panzerblitz" (Eduard sprues)

1/72 Airfix Wellington Ic

1/72 Tamiya Mosquito FB Mk.VI

1/72 Tamiya P-47D Thunderbolt

1/72 Dragon Panzer IV Ausf.H

1/72  Dragon Sherman Firefly IC

1/72 Dragon Sherman M4A3

1/72 Dragon Sherman M4A1

1/72 UM M12 155mm GMC "King Kong"

1/72 Hasegawa Junkers Ju-188E

2019 was a particulary good year for modelers with an interest in Soviet WW2 aviation.

Both Arma Hobby and Brengun released a new Yak-1B, while Kovozavody Prostejov re-did Smer's Ilyushin Il-2 with new parts, and Zvezda added the Petlyakov Pe-2 to their catalogue.

This is Arma Hobby's 1/72 Yak-1B.

1/72 Brengun Yak-1B

1/72 Kovozavody Prostejov Ilyushin Il-2

1/72 Zvezda Petlyakov Pe-2

Not actually a Soviet aircraft, but it carries Red Stars!

1/72 Special Hobby P-40K

1/72 SBS Fiat G.50 'Croatian Air Force' (my first full resin kit)

1/72 Henschel Hs-129 B3 (comissioned build without swastikas on customer's request)

1/72 Dragon T-34/85

1/72 ACE HP8 Tourer Car

1/72 Airfix GMC 353 Truck

1/72 Armory M45 "Meat Chopper" AA gun

AZ Model expanded their Bf-109 series to the Erla production version, which has never been available as an injection-molded kit in 72 scale before.

I completed three of them.

1/72 Airfix Hawker Typhoon Mk.IB

1/72 AZ Model P-51C Mustang w/dorsal fin

1/72 IBG Crusader Mk.III AA Tank

1/72 OKB Grigorov M24 Chaffee

1/72 Zebrano Humber Mk.IV (resin kit)

1/72 Zvezda ISU-152

1/72 Hasegawa SdKfz 251/1 Ausf.D

I would like to thank the BM members for their nice and constructive comments I've received.

Beautiful 1/72 work there Roman especially as they are mostly in my scale. I can definitely see some inspiration from Redboost's work. Someone's work I also aspire to.

That Zvezda Pe-2 is a lovely looking kit I think, & I do like your weathering on your tanks.

Great work there Roman with a good variety of aircraft and vehicles. My favourite would be the P-40K but you're 1/72 armour is quite impressive.

All the best for 2020.

Hi My Friend Roman!!!

Really happy with your wonderful results, so think this last year, on the contrary with many people I have spoke about,  wasn't one to forget to you.

Nice builds that I enjoyed at all in every post, nice talkings and wonderful sources of inspiration. Thank you very much for that!!!

The one who have been always grateful to you it's me, because watching those magnificent works you have done, I was keeping in any way making some progress in buildings that have been stuck since a long time ago, for sure inthie new year will be a nice production for me too, as have advanced a huge lot of models, simple model kits not as complicated or as modern like yours, but for some place one has to start.

Hope soon can be sharing something here, so stay tuned and don't lose faith!!!

Keep on modeling and have a nice new year and thank you very much for sharing!!!

Luis Alfonso
