Kia Ora and good evening from the bottom of the world. It's (checks clock) 10.53PM in NZ so almost 2020. Pants of a year emotionally/mentally but I got through and finished on a high with 6 models I'm very happy with. Highlight was a 2 week tour of Vietnam in Oct/Nov. Wow, it was eye opening.

This is one of the kits I was very excited to finish as I've always loved the deep chin and desert camouflage of the Vb Trop. This stems back to a diecast one I had when I was about 12 y/o. It had retracting landing gear and everything. This represents Neville Duke's 2nd Vb Trop ER821, 92 Sqn, Libya, March 1943. I was torn between this and a USAAF bird so I'm likely to build another. Decals came from Lifelike Decals sheet 72-023.

Kit is the 1/72 Tamiya kit with PE harnesses added for additional cockpit detail, antennae mast mount was replicated using a template by UStar. 20mm barrels were replaced using brass items. Model was painted with Mr Surfacer 1000, Mr Color paints Middle Stone, Dark Earth and Azure Blue. Mr Color Super Clear for gloss and Tamiya satin varnish (lacquer) for the finish. Smaller details using Tamiya enamels. Panel lines treated with AK Interactive Dark Wash for desert and sand camouflage. Streaks made using AK Interior streaking effect. Chipping done using a small piece of sponge and Tamiya dull aluminum. Sand/dirt on wheels is AK's Sand Yellow Deposit.

Photo's taken with my Samsung mobile, which I'm very happy with. Enjoy and see you for a stellar 2020.
