F-4E s/n 66-0329 was an ex-Thunderbird aircraft. She served as a test support aircraft at Edwards AFB from 1978 through 1991. Operated by the 6512th Test Squadron, throughout the early 1980s is was part of the Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) chase flight, hence the white upper wings with the camouflage schemes. The N prefix indicating a permanent flight test modification was installed in/on the airframe.

Nice looking aircraft there Sven. Great to see a hard winged F-4E. Also the change from short to long gun fairing. Thank you for posting and interesting subject matter.

Why the removal of the MIDAS fairing for the cannon? Kinda interesting. I so wish we could get a USAF Test and Eval set of decals in 1/48 for aircraft such as this, especially from the likes of Caracal or Speed Hunter. Thanks Sven!

It will contain markings for six different AFTTC Phantoms (F-4D, NF-4E and RF-4Cs) and will be available in early April.
