Airfix's 1/72 Spitfire Mk.1 as a 19 Squadron pre-war fighter. RFI link here. The 1/72 Airfix Hawk in the 19 Sqn anniversary colours, built to accompany the Spitfire. RFI link here. (Well down the page) Along with the camouflage 19 Squadron Hawk I built the older mould 1/72 Airfix Hawk in-flight in the 2008 RAF anniversary airshow scheme. RFI link here. The achingly beautiful (IMVHO) VC10. The Airfix 1/144 model from the Sky Kings boxing with S&M decals for the Year I was Born GB (1964 in my case). RFI link here. - about the fifth entry. Newbie(kinda) Posted December 31, 2019 Share Posted December 31, 2019 I'm a Spit man, so OBVIOUSLY I love your Mk.1. But, BUT, BUT that VC10. I was born in 1960 and built that kit (the Airfix original) as a kid. I didn't paint it (suspect I was too young and my parents probably didn't want me ruining their dining table) but I did put on those BOAC transfers. It was the most GORGEOUS airliner ever. And still is... Nice to know I am not alone thinking the VC10 was (is) truly beautiful. Personally I think the longer Super VC10 was even more elegant. Maybe I'll have to get my Roden model built...
