Modelholic
Curious to know if anyone produces piping around 8mm diameter suitable to be cut and used as 20mm gun tubs. I was hoping a popular chicken fastfood chain's straws would suffice, but, sadly, no. Tom

Tom Albion Alloys produce an 8mm brass tube but, as its walls may be too thick to give a true scale thickness could you use it as a template to scratch your own tubs using thinner plasticard for the walls ?
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Tom, Evergreen do styrene tubing 7.1mm (229), 7.9mm (230) and about 8.5mm (231). The walls might be a bit thick but if you scrape/chamfer the inner top edge it looks thinner and a little more authentic. I do that when I use 4.8mm tubing for 20mm Oerlikon gun tubs for 1/600 scale. I've done the same when I used 7.1mm for twin Bofor 40mm gun tubs. HTH. Regards, Jeff Edited December 27, 2019 by ArnoldAmbrose
