Hello all, I'm planning on building the Hobby-Boss F-5e which was with the VMFT-401 Squadron 2006 and looking at the paint scheme I'm hoping to use Mr Color paints but upon looking at the colour recommendations they don't seem to equivocate to the scheme shown. Any advice or should I just stick with the listed colours for example the colour they named as Intermediate gray but in me color they ask for number 72  which is intermediate blue. I'm a bit confused by the ordeal and wonder if the scheme is brighter with more contrast than that shown on the sheet or they have just got their colours wrong.

I would take those Hobbyboss colour suggestions with a big grain of salt.

 

Apparently this one was painted in, from darkest to lightest colour, FS35237 (Mr. Color 337), FS36375 (Mr. Color 308) and FS36495 (Mr. Color 338).

No idea how good these sets are, though, I've never used them.

@Vinster here we go http://users.skynet.be/exotic.planes/htm/other/schemes.htm once you l know the codes the internet should find you paints to match

Would the grain of salt be the same my Lynx from them but saying that all the colours suggests seem ok.

This is brilliant - I just realised it is the exact aircraft I am painting so Im gonna stick with these recommended colours

assuming this is about the 1/72 F-5E Hobbyboss kit a remark that the kit has one serious error:  the windshield is about 30% too short!
