The missiles from there had a mixture of US and Brit RBF flags, noddy caps were all striped (AFAIK) maybe as you say due to their short working life. Certainly not enough of one or the other to define a standard, like I said (and relevant to the OP's post) the only ones that were always US style were AOTD covers. Not directly missile related, but if we ever got a brand new Lau 7A detent wrench/safety pin out from its packaging it had US style pennant that we cut off and replaced with a striped one.
