FW 190F-8 - Eduard 1/72

I've had this in the stash for some time. I think I bought it to try out ProfiPacks but of course I've done a few of these since.

 

 

PC and Cookie very generously bought me a lovely new airbrush when they visited:

 

 

…and this has prompted me to build something that needs mottling. It's some sort of madness, but I fancy doing one of these:

 

 

Probably the white one. Oooh look, they've got a spiral spinner too

… but nothing for the spinner  

 

Transfers and STENCILS (ugh):

 

 

I think I might (wait for it) build this wheels down and put it in the cabinet with the Spitfire I built some time ago (October 2016):

Hey, I got a front sear for this one, I have got some mince pies in the oven.

Any room in the fridge?

 

Enjoy the build Ced, I have a similar scale Hellcat to do in the future so will watch for hints and tips.

Phew! Made it on page one.

There’s an awful lot of bits there for a 1/72 kit, you sure it’s not 1/48in the wrong box?

Any chance you could model it falling from the sky complete with 1/72 flames and a Mk IX in mid victory roll right behind it?

I lit our wood burner at about 1.30pm and sat down for a minute to make sure it was going OK and was woken by SWMBO at 2.20

Just finished the last of the pecan pie and saw your WIP- my vote's for White 1! (Have you recovered sufficiently from the Sunderland build?) Can't believe I beat @Corsairfoxfouruncle to the remaining seat at the bar!

Nice one Neil - fingers crossed I can get close to yours  

That also made me realise I should search for 'FW190' rather than 'FW 190' and that found your RFI and Adam's build with some nice paint techniques (although it is an A8).

It also found me PC's A8 WiP which I'll read through soon, even though Photobucket is doing that annoying blurring thing…

One thing I'm pondering after changing my desktop background to the scheme. 

What about aerial wire with open cockpit?

I assume the canopy sort of slides down the wire and the wire shows through the back of the canopy, connected to somewhere?

I may conveniently forget to fit it…

 

Anyway, and so it begins:

 

 

I'm playing a game of 'this bit's grey, that bit's grey' before spraying stuff but I've decided to assemble most of the 'pit and the PE i/p:

Nice. I'm building the weekend version of this kit, so it'll be interesting to follow yours too.

 

'Red 2' is an attractive scheme although apparently it may have actually been 'Black 2' with a yellow, grey or green cowling ring. Seems there's doubt about the red, although it does look good with the winter camo!
