Dermo245
Got some decals done over the Christmas holidays. Revell CL-415 Wip_12 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Revell's are normally great but these were shocking - no adhesive quality at all and needed multiple coats of setting solution to get them to conform. The wing leading-edge markings actually cracked when I put them on. So I've stripped them and masked to paint up that area. Happy New year to you all! Dermo245
Here's the fix on the leading edge which I painted as the decals were rubbish, Masked up Revell CL-415 Wip_13 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Painted... Revell CL-415 Wip_14 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr And tidied up the overspray/mask bleed.. Revell CL-415 Wip_15 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr And then tackling the metal landing gear from Scale Aircraft Conversions..a lot of swearing and super glue 😂 Revell CL-415 Wip_16 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Will add the main wing and final weathering and we'll be done! All the best, Dermot
Dermo245
And with that, the super scooper is done. Trying to fit it on the bench for a photo was difficult! Revell CL-415 Done_1 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Revell CL-415 Done_3 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Revell CL-415 Done_11 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Revell CL-415 Done_14 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Final thoughts? Well, it's a big but basic kit with mostly ok fit - the new parts for the wings/tail aerodynamic mods and the engines don't fit so well The rivets could probably do with sanding down as they're a bit heavy. With 30g in the nose, she sits fine but the metal u/c from SAC was needed - this caused me some grief as the fitting points are weak. And the decals were an absolute shocker. But after all that...and what felt like a litre of yellow paint, I'm happy with how it's turned out. And looks great among all the grey jets and choppers. Will post some more pics in RFI, thanks for looking and happy modelling! Cheers, Dermot
