It is finished as a DH.104 Devon C.1 , VP974, of 11 Group Communications Flight at RAF Ouston, Northumberland in 1961.  It had previously served with 13 Group CF which was at Ouston from 1955.  In the late 1960's VP974 was converted to a Devon C.2 in which role it served until scrapped in 1980.

Thanks for looking.

Fabulous little model that. I remember seeing the occasional 207 sqn Devon flying into Woodford. Always intrigued me how old they were with their 'VP' serials older than Vampires and Venoms yet still in service in the 80s.

I like that a lot, I've one to do as a RNZAF one come the day. I've long thought these were a very attractive aircraft. You finished article catches that so well.

Superb!  I photographed that actual aircraft at Upavon in June 1962, brought in a VIP for the 50th Anniversary of Military Aviation air show. The aircraft was in superb condition and the metal was very highly polished as I recall.

I flew in one of the RNZAF ones at Woodburne when I was in the Air force for a short time. That's how I found out I have sinus problems.

By the way,

Very nice done model of it.
