Antb
Hi folks, my next build is going to be an Aussie Hornet done in this scheme here; http://www.adf-gallery.com.au/gallery/Hornet-A21-13 ive been spending some time studying the available images of A21-13 for weapons loads and have the following, which I’m wanting to check is right for an Aussie F18. ASRAAM on both wingtip rails 3 x fuel tanks on stations 3, centre line and 7 A JDAM on station 2 AAS38 Pod on station 6 MK82s on station 8 a single AMRAAM on station 4 This is based on what images I can find online but obviously they are taken at different time periods. Does this seem about “right” or do I need something different to make it accurate. Thanks in advance.
72modeler
If you want to do loadouts for an Aussie Hornet, it might depend upon which version you want to model. I have attached a link to text and photos of loadouts for RAAF Hornets used on ops as well as two other Hornet websites. Modern weenie cookers aren't my thing, but maybe these links will be helpful. Brendon
Hi Antb. The load out seems feasible, but I would suggest switching the MK.82s for JDAMS or Paveway LGB's What sort of Time Frame you looking around? here are some loadouts that the RAAF used in the sandbox https://images.defence.gov.au/assets/archives/5003-All-Defence-Imagery/?25=OKRA https://images.defence.gov.au/assets/archives/5003-All-Defence-Imagery/?25=OKRA https://images.defence.gov.au/assets/archives/5003-All-Defence-Imagery/?25=OKRA Cheers Brendon
Nigel Bunker
Ideal loading for an Aussie Hornet is a portable barbi under the fuselage with an eskie under each wing 😁

Thanks for the response, it is appreciated. Regarding the time frame the bird (A21-13) wears the 90th Anniversary markings and images I can find are from 2006-2010. Here are links to the pictures i've found which suggest the load of the 82's and the JDAM. 2010 JDAM? 2010 MK 82? AMRAAM Peaking out? I can find other images of 13 but she doesn't carry anything other than a LANTIRN pod and these are the only ones I can find with any type of load. Im happy to swap out for the Paveway etc but want to make sure that the build is accurate- which is strange because ive never been that bothered before 🤣 Thanks again for the reply, anything you can add would be great Edited December 28, 2019 by Antb
Brendon
Hi Antb. The 2010 airshow pic A21-13 is carrying; TACTS pod, MK84' droptank Aim-120C empty Aim-120C droptank MK.82 snake eye GBU-38 JDAM ASRAAM The Problem with airshow displays, that the RAAF weapons guys will put a variety of weapons of what the Hornet can carry.
