You have a good array of projects there Erwin. For my own part I'll likely be too busy with the GBs and STGBs to work on my own projects but going to gain my modelling fix vicariously through everyone else's work :)

My plan is -

Scandanavia gb - Hasegawa Sabre from Norway

Journeys end - Probably an Airfix Spitfire vix

BoB - Subject tbc

MTO - tbc

Interceprors - again tbc

There are so many this year that I’d love to join in on but know I just won’t have time. I usually only finish 3 or 4 builds a year and the 5 that I’ve pencilled in are fairly evenly spaced on the gb calendar. And if it all goes wrong as it probably will when some super duper new kit gets released there’s always the kuta gb🙂

Not sure really, maybe;

STGB - JU-87D with a night attack version

Scandinavia - Swedish Mosquito NF.

In the Navy - will think of something, have plenty of warships

STGB T-34 - Finnish version

I have far too many plans and nowhere near enough time for them all! But here's what I have in mind:

Scandinavia: Finnish Fouga Magister

In the Navy: USN A-4C, Hunter T.8, or French Crusader are the top 3 of a long list that also includes a Spanish AV-8B and a USN C-9 Nightingale

Lancaster STGB: One or more of a Manchester, Lancaster II (post-war Metrovick testbed), Lincoln (possibly the Armstrong-Siddeley Python testbed)

Kit you built as a kid: Airfix 707, maybe a Heller Dragon Rapide, Hasegawa P-3 or Italeri C-119

Chopper/Autogiro/STOVL: A Harrier - T.4, GR.7, AV-8B or Sea Harrier, I'll decide nearer the time

Vietnam: Vietjet A320

Classic Heller: Noratlas, Dragon Rapide or Mirage IV

Interceptor: Tornado F.3, Lightning F.6 or Vampire NF.10

Plus whatever I might fit in for They Also Serve

Great thread! Interesting hearing everyone’s plans...My line up is....

MUSTANG STGB Airfix 1/72 Cookie

BLITZENBUILD Bandai 1/72 X-Wing Red 6 Jek Porkins

STUKA STGB Zvezda 1/72 Ju-87 R1

IN THE NAVY Trumpeter SU-33

KIT AS A KID Airfix 109

CHOPPER 1/72+1/48 Italeri US Coastguard Jayhawks in flight

BOB 1/72 Airfix Spitfire Mk1 + Airfix 109

SPITFIRE STGB Eduard Spitfire 1/48

VIETNAM 1/72 Airfix A4 + Italeri Huey

MTO 1/48 Eduard FW190A-4 11./SKG 10

Be a few others in there as we go! Quite a lot going on but 2019 saw me churn out quite a few pieces 20+ so it can be done. This is also going to see me improve on my first ever 1/48 from this year...excited

Hi,

I too have intentions to take part in the following GBs but as usual the caveat is life in general and various curve balls it delivers plus the overlap of several of the builds, anyway starting with good intentions:

Junkers Ju87 STGB – Airfix 1/48 B1

Scandinavia – Saab Viggen Airfix 1/48

Avro Lancaster – Revell 1/72 Mk. I / III

Blackburn Buccaneer – Airfix 1/48

Battle of Britain 80th anniversary – Hawker Hurricane Airfix 1/24

Heinkel He.111 – Airfix 1/72 P-2

Heller Classic – E-Type Jaguar 3.8L FHC 1/24

Interceptors – Gloster Javelin FAW.Mk.9 Airfix 1/48

All currently in the stash and ready to go.

Mark.

Built as a kid - 1:16 Airfix BMW R69

Journey’s End - 1:48 Revell Spitfire MkIXc

P-51 STGB - 1:48 Tamiya P-51B

In The Navy - Airfix starter sets Mary Rose or Victory; or Airfix 1:600 HMS Hood

Whichever one happens to be running whenever I can find time to locate the bench.

I still need to plug dates in the spreadsheet for those I'm most interested in so I can try to set some priorities for any given month.

I had/have planned to only build 7 models next year (:rofl2:) but gosh looking at this list now even that may be a stretch!!

It's a pretty working stage of life when the simplest build will be a large 1/35th chopper!!! But going by my wee huge spreadsheet it's doable, the simple straightforward builds are at the start of the year. The stretch will be the MTO build, if things get too crazy I may drop that one.

Plus there's no telling what other projects I may start during the year either! :wall:

Scandinavian GB - 1/35th Tiger Model - CB-90 Combat Boat - in Swedish Navy "Splinter" scheme

in the Navy GB - 1/48th Hasegawa F/A-18E Super Hornet - VF-31 scheme

Chopper GB - 1/35th Kitty Hawk MH-60L Blackhawk - 160th SOAR scheme wt gun pods - OOB

Vietnam GB - 1/32nd Fisher Model & Pattern A-1E Skyraider - Burnie Fisher's MOH aircraft

Tornado STGB - 1/32nd Revell Tornado ECR - Tiger Meet scheme

MTO III GB - 1/32nd MDC Hawker Typhoon 1B - convert to "car door" version in Middle East evaluation scheme (still undecided on joining this GB)

Interceptors GB - 1/48th AMK MiG-31 Foxhound - OOB

Just the Battle Of Britain one. I tend to build at a glacial pace and rarely finish anything, so committing to anything more would be pointless. Even that may be wishful thinking, as it's possible that I might be putting the house on the market next year, and I can't help but think that will be extremely disruptive.

That said, I would really like to take part in this one. I have a plan to do a bit of local aviation history and don't want to give away anything just yet!

Cheers,

Mark.

Whatever plans I have now will end up looking nothing like it will come December 2020, so probably best I keep quiet on this one. Being a classic kit addict I’m aiming to complete Heller kits where possible just to get fully into the swing come October when the next Classic Kit GB gets going. So for me, three Heller SAAB’s for the Scandi GB might make a good start!

Cheers.. Dave

I committed myself to the Battle of Britain and Heller Classic GBs, but I am also considering at least one entry for In The Navy.

I was warned joining in with group builds would be addictive! :)

It really is.  The camaraderie around this part of the forum is amazing.

I could see the following being attempted.....depending how the foray back into model building goes.  I really need to work on the house some more though.

In the Navy GB - don't know what though.  Have a 1/48 Hase F6F-3, 1/48 Hobbyboss F4F-3 (Late) in the stash already.  I could dive into my first ship ever.  Do have a 1/700 USS Minneapolis and a 1/350 Tamiya USS Fletcher with Eduard Photoetch.

Spitfire/Seafire - maybe a Mk 1 as I just got the Iliad Designs 1/48 Odd Ball Spitfire sheet but no kit.  I do have a 1/48 Hase Vb Trop sitting on the shelf.

Might be interested in......but no ideas what they would be.

Battle of Britain

Vietnam

MTO III

The summer ones might be tough though.  My sister and niece always visit in the summer for close to a month long and I'd have to go through their room to get to my model room.  I could move it for the month.  Plus, if it was like this summer, which it probably will be, every other weekend I'm up north camping, kayaking and drinking.

This is what I'm planning on building/joining this year. I copied and pasted this from my notes. The question marks reference if I have time and a model for the build. In the Buccaneer’s case the Airfix kits still aren't available here in the U.S.. Most likely yes but wont know more until January.

here's my build list for 2020, I've picked most of them up over this year. I was having a think last night about the MTO build and thought the raid on the sidi haneish airfield. I'm not going to be able to take part in all I had originally signed up to as I'm out of the country the early part of next year.

Panther STGB: Tekom Panther

BoB: Tamyia spitfire rolling onto Fujimi Bf 110 both 1/48

MTO: I'm thinking of a light box containing a couple of SAS jeeps driving through some parked up aircraft.

what I built as a kid: Airfix Pe 2
