Army_Air_Force
2019 has been another year of building models, mostly for other people. However, the first completion of the year was a model for myself, finished in January. Ryan PT-22 The aircraft was the Special Hobby PT-20 with a resin conversion to build a Ryan PT-22. I flew the fullsize example back in 2016, which planted the seed to build a model of the aircraft I flew. Max holste Broussard The next model was for a customer and was finished in March, It was the first prototype of my 1/72 scale, scratch built Max Holste Broussard French utility aircraft. Lunar Eggle Module Number three was a joint project with my daughter for a school Easter Egg competition and was completed in March. The theme chosen by the school was space, so we made a Lunar Eggle module, "The Eggle has Landed". Tipsy Nipper In April, I finished the smallest model of the year, a Tipsy Nipper that was fitted into a Christmas Bauble. Jeep in a Crate May saw the completion of two 1/35 scale Jeeps in their packing crates. I did one last year and after members of the owner's family saw it, they wanted one too. Max Holste Broussard No.2 In June, the second Broussard was finished. SAR Sea King Also finished in June was this old Airfix Sea King. Miles Messenger The next model completed wasn't until September, a Miles Messenger. Bucker Jungmann The second last model for 2019 was this 1/32 scale Jungmann, finished in November. It is to be used by the pilot of the fullsize aircraft to plan aerobatic schedules. It was a modified Revell kit, strengthened to help it survive handling. Piper L-4 Grasshopper The last build of 2019 was this Piper L-4 Grasshopper, modelled on an example based at Sandtoft airfield for the owner. It is the 1/48 scale SMER kit with custom markings. It was finished in early December. That's all folks!
