AT LAST F16 CJ, 1/32 scale Tamiya.

Recommended Posts

Thanks @Andwil, @giemme, @bbudde, and @keefr22, and a Happy New Year to all.

Well not a lot done recently but these arrived today from Amazon.

IMG_2019

Which tempted me enough to start some hairy stick work, saves masking.

IMG_2020

A little touch up here I see but I still need to paint a few more details yet.

IMG_2021

Gear box got a tickle as well but again still work to do.

Well, now I have seen the errors I suppose I better rectify them.

Thanks @keefr22, @giemme and @bbudde, a little more done.

First of all, I made a complete fool of myself, when reading the colour call out on the gear box I thought it read X 12 Gold Leaf, on closer and careful looking, it was XF 12 IJN Grey, slightly different you can say.

So out with the hairy stick and gave the offending area a coat of it.

Also a splash of X 32 to a pipe was done to.

IMG_2025

The engine bulkhead was tidied and a splash of X 31 and X 18 were added.

IMG_2024

Next up, the front compressor ring got a coat of XF 21.

IMG_2026

Before finally starting to paint up the after burner ring.

This time with XF 19.

IMG_2027

Just the X 13 Metallic blue to add to the ridges there.

So that`s it for today, hopefully some more will get done tomorrow.

That's a shame. I thought it looked good in gold! Neat brushwork there Simon, those new brushes look nice.

Thanks @keefr22 , @giemme , @bbudde and @Andwil .

OK, busy yesterday but this evening got a little bit more done.

Afterburner ring finished apart from a wash of smoke.

IMG_2032

The engine mounting frame got some H 401  .

IMG_2030

And finally , some pylons got built, centre and outer ones.

IMG_2031

Allow them to set before a clean up and prime some when.

I hope to get some more done tomorrow but what I don`t know.

Thank you good sirs, how much of them will be seen once built, but that is what us modelers do .

Well, another busy day at Spookytooth Towers but I managed to get a little bit more done.

Some engine bits attacked with a hairy stick.

IMG_2033

Followed by a bit of XF 16 on the engine mounting frame.

IMG_2034

The U/C oleo`s had a dab of X 11.

IMG_2035

And the disc brakes a touch of XF 1

IMG_2036

A little touch up here and there but getting there, slowly.

Well , lets hope I can get some more done over the weekend.

Thank you @TheBaron, @corsaircorp, @bbudde and @keefr22, more done when I have had a chance.

Main wheel hubs.

IMG_2037

Cockpit bits to paint.

IMG_2038

Rudder assembly, again ready to paint.

IMG_2039

Main IP nearly done.

IMG_2040

I wish there were some decals for the dial faces in the kit.

Side consoles , again nearly done, my eyes were strained by this point.

IMG_2041

Right stick just needs a couple of bits done.

IMG_2042

Oxygen bottle for the seat.

IMG_2043

Gun bay panels.

IMG_2044

IMG_2045

Still got detail painting to finish off but the eyes are now shot.

Thanks @giemme, @corsaircorp, @bbudde and @keefr22 for your kind words and encouragement.

Right, with refreshed eyes, I started again.

Side consoles done, just a coat of varnish needed there.

IMG_2046

Next up, oxygen bottle with the right colour fitting.

IMG_2047

Bang handle next, scrappy but nowt that a careful dab of paint won`t solve.

IMG_2048

And I started on the seat details.

IMG_2049

IMG_2050

A bit blurry I know, hopefully some better pics when finished.

Coffee break then onwards.

Right before tea (Chicken Stew and Dumplings) sorted out those small cockpit parts.

IMG_2052

Also gave the seat front a dab of grey, ready for the cushion to be painted NATO Green.

IMG_2053

Off for tea.

Great progress and lovely detail. I'm seriously thinking about getting this kit having seen your thread. Keep up the good work.

Q.

It`s a great kit Dr, the fit is spot on so far, but I would recommend some A/M decals for the IP though, the kit does not come with any apart from a couple of screen decals.

Thanks @giemme, @bbudde. @quieto, @keefr22, @chrislowe, and @Andwil.

OK, back to this beast after a short break.

While I had the white in the pot I gave the inside of the underside a splash of colour.

IMG_2075

I changed colour for some X 11 and sprayed some on these bits.

Upper engine bay.

IMG_2077

The trolley runners.

IMG_2078

And a "Fluid bottle"

IMG_2080

Just a decal to go on that.

Then I opened up a new bottle of primer, trusty Alcad 2 .

Then went a priming frenzy.

Trolley bits.

IMG_2081

U/C doors.

IMG_2082

Tail planes.

IMG_2083

Rudder and tail fin top.

IMG_2084

And finally the tail fin itself.

IMG_2085

After that it`s time for a coffee and fag, once the fumes have gone.

That`s the only problem spraying primer/lacquer in the front room.

The good lady Rose does not mind but is happier once the smelly stuff is finished.

Ciao

Thanks, , just a case of many light coats as they say.

Thanks @bbudde, @Andwil, and @chrislowe.

Well another fine day for spraying.

So out with the X 2.

First up, intake trunking given a few coats.

IMG_2086

Next, main U/C bay bits and radar bits too.

IMG_2087

Gas/fluid bottles got a squirt of the white stuff, ready to be fitted soon, I hope.

IMG_2088

Lastly at the moment the nose wheel door got a first coat too.

IMG_2089

Well that`s done and drying time for a coffee and a blast on my vape (trying to pack in the baccy).

Thanks @corsaircorp, @keefr22, and @bbudde.

Right, after a quick dash to the Waterlooville Model Centre to get a pot of XF 13 which I thought I had (handy as it was Paul had got my Alcad in from the big H.

XF 13 on this lot.

Trolley bits X 2

IMG_2090

And this bit as well.

IMG_2091

And the wheels too, they were white until I checked the destruction's again.

IMG_2092

While that lot dried I filled up with X 2 and gave the engine internals a coat.

IMG_2093

And that nose wheel door got a coat too.

IMG_2094

Well that`s the spraying done for today, maybe some sticking and hairy stick work tonight.
