Closely related: the "tedium" of doing every step several times in succession, vs. "Yeah, but having built this kit once, will I really want to start all over again some other time?" I suppose to some degree it depends on the kit, and some people love those "whang the basic airframe together in an afternoon so I can get to the part I really like (painting)" kits. I, on the other hand, really enjoy the assembly process, including some problem solving. Or maybe it is just that I have a fear of the painting not going well! I actually like decalling, too, which some people seem to hate. I’m hoping the second aircraft interior will be as fuss free and fast as the first one. Pity I’m away from the desk for a while now. I guess the double-build aspect will get really fun once we’re on the outside with the different exhausts, tanks, wheels, paint scheme and decals. 32 minutes ago, BlueNosers352nd said: Danks, I am not impressed with Mission Models stuff either. Outta the bottle it's too thick. Add and drop of thinner and it acts like it's too thin. Tried a drying retarder this time and it still clogs. Clean up is a pain too. Tamiya and Mr Color is so much easier. Glad it’s not just me. I thought I’d done something wrong. I’ll go back to tamiya or model air for the second aircraft. A shame as the colours were great. Patrice Sounds like a plan Patrice. Thanks too 👍 OK I remember buying a pot of mr. color a while back with the intention of using it with my Chatanooga Choo Choo set building ‘Miss Steve’. I just uncovered that paint so now I think its a waste not to use it (as its such a specific special colour I’ll never need it for anything else.) So to cut a long story short, Miss Steve has been added to the Mustang production line in W.W.E.M.D. (what would @Enzo Matrix do?) fashion. Building up the second and third kit is so fast and relaxed and easy after figuring out the paint and build order and the pitfalls on build one. So I am really enjoying the multi-build aspect a lot. Hence the lack of hesitation in adding Miss Steve to the production. I think the trickiest thing is keeping it all organised, but that's fun too. Let’s see how it pans out. Maybe I've taken on too much. 😬 But right now it's top fun 🤗 Here’s all the suspects in question: Thanks for tuning in. All comments are welcome. It took quite a while to make all three of these as theres quite a number of pieces in their make up. The full cockpits are semi complete and should be finished tomorrow bar any catastrophies. 🤞 Some resin goodies pre-primer were among the bits i worked on today. And I love the mustang traffic lights 😁
Joss
Hi Dansk, You steaming along nicely! I'm gunna through a spanner in the works sorry. The royal class comes with a filleted and non filleted fuselage, which if I'm not mistaken means you've got two filleted and non filleted kits between your collect. It would appear the three colour schemes all have the fuselage fillet. All is looking good and look forward to see more progress! All the best Joss

Thanks so much for pointing this out before i moved on any further. 🙏 well spotted. That first fuesleage I made is a fillet-less example so I will have to change my scheme options there. Hmmm Christmas has put a minor dent in production - but both the other new cockpits (for aircraft 2 and 3) are near complete (missing just a hose). After the photos I have given them a future coat readying them for a dark wash. (Note the space for the tail fillet on both) The wheel wells on mustangs are seriously busy but i have held back from going too far (or I’ll never complete this 🤪) - but have put just a ‘suggestive’ amount of plumbing in. This well is near complete, with the other two to go. Then they will get a future coat and a wash also. Dansk
1 hour ago, stevej60 said: Outstanding work so far! Thanks a lot Steve 🙏 A little update from here. Cockpits are now all sorted for all three planes. its been a good (but tough with the repetition) excercise so far doing this multi-build. I think the second two cockpits stepped up a touch from #1. (Note to self: must remove those few hairs dotted about) I think i got a little better doing the plumbing too: Wheel bay #2’s pipes are a lot sharper than wheel bay #1’s which now i see are really rubbish.😁 they’re all supposed to just be suggestive, but still... Wheel bay #2: Wheel bay one has been completed. It’s extremely weathered. Wheel bay #1: The next two I will make cleaner. Those pipes (circled) need re-locating. (I note that Creamer’s dream has an all-zinc chromate bays according to eduard, and my other scheme options varied silver / silver + zinc chromate, however its all a bit up in the air which schemes I’ll now do today, so I’m going zinc chromate on all of them irrespective of scheme and correctness (Is that a word?) I clumsily and unconsciously knocked off this (red) tab at some point (blue is how it should be) So i’ll need to fix that. 🙄 Other than that, i think tomorrow if I get half a chance I’ll re-address which aircraft I will build, finish bay 2 and 3, fix the broken tab, and go from there... Still love the traffic lights, 😊 And now they are installed x3 Edited December 26, 2019 by Dansk

Dansk
Fixed the missing PE parts, the little hairs and the unpainted hose top that annoyed me last night on one of the aircraft. The rear gear positioning is too short on eduards kit as pointed out by @Joss Joss have you had chance to look at it yet? I’m thinking of repositioning like this below - what do you think? Eduards instructions: Suggested new angle / position: Real ref: note the rear pivot point on the gear leg at the same height as the door top where it meets the fuselage.
