1/48 F105G scale plans

Hi folks

I picked up the 1/48 Revell f105G at Telford as a project to have a go at fully rescribing a model.

I've spent a few hours this morning looking around to see if there are any scale plans around but have drawn a blank.

Are there any around or any plans at all that can assist with my build?

I'd be most grateful for any pointers.

Many thanks in advance

Hello

My suggestion would be to look at airwar.ru. On this page one can find F-105 F/G drawings. There are another four sets of Thunderchief drawings on their main post-war US fighter page here, and two of them include profile drawings of F-105 G. Of course, adjusting drawings' size to 1/48 scale is still necessary. Cheers

Jure

Hi

Regarding F-105 B--D-F-G series the Detail & Scale had fine plans

Also the Squadron Signal Books on the F-105 had 1/72 plans

Cheers

Just so you know, many of the plans in the D&S books are very highly suspect, and some of them are downright awful.  Ditto on the plans contained in Squadron Signal books.  If you don't believe me, scan plans from each source for the same aircraft and overlay them in Photoshop.  Little if any part of either of them will match the other.''

I have never seen a set of F-105 plans that I would call really good.  Your best bet is to just use the kit scribing as a guide.

Thanks @NorthBayKid

If I can find a set of plans then that's great, if not the kit panel lines and a search of pictures on line will come to my aid 🙂

Sadly, the build has been pushed right down the list as of late, but will be done at some point in 2020 I reckon.
