@rob85 gave me this Mustang when we met at Telford, and how often do you get to build a kit with the diminutive of your screen name applied to its side?

It's the 1/72 Airfix kit with Revell transfers and painted with Vallejo Metal Colors.

The build thread is here.

Thanks @TEMPESTMK5 and @Enzo Matrix for another great Group Build!

A very clean Pony Plane...Swiss Mustang, very much OOB, from AZ Models.  I like the kit very much and recommend it highly.  The decals, on the other hand, were problematic.  Painfully thin, as I like them, but oh so fragile.  And, as you can see, the white crosses are not as opaque as they should be.  Best to paint crosses next time!  Still, I am very happy with this build and it certainly stands out as not being Allied or Axis!

I have a few days until the Stuka GB begins so I will take a break from the GB pile and work on some Migs (17 & 21) I have going.  I will return to the Mustang GB with an Uruguayan caballero soon enough!  I have until March 15th...😉

Without further ado...my very first Mustang build ever!  As you see, I kept it very clean.  It is Swiss, after all...

Hello Everyone... Id like to present my build. Its an F-6C That flew with the 118th TRS/23 FG China 1944. The kit is the old Monogram P-51B/C in 1/48th scale. I rescued this from a vendor table for $4.00 last November and it is pretty much an oob build. The only real modification’s were the drilling of holes in the lower fuselage, and lower port fuselage to accomodate the camera’s, and brass tubing for the .50 cal. barrels.  The camera’s are just two pieces of sprue hollowed out. The markings other than the “597” and Stars & Bars are all masked and painted. There are two members that helped me with parts along the way, @gingerbob & @Procopius so Thank you gentleman.

My second and final build for this fun GB.  Many thanks to the Mods for a fine job and everyone for their fine modelling.  It has been inspiring, to say the least, to be included among you!  So, here is Airfix' new P-51D kit in Uruguayan markings.  Aside from the primary decals, it is OOB except for the scratch-built radar teardrop.  Vallejo and Vallejo Air...Lots of fun.  Now I must bow out.  I hear a couple of Spitfires revving their motors across the pond in Scandinavia!  😉
