Even without pants, still dangerous... Sturzkämpflugzeuge !!

Recommended Posts

Hello Dears !!

I'm very glad to call this one finished !!

What could ever possibly go wrong... Has been wrong...

I surely messed up since I read here and there that it's a pretty good kit...

To no avail for me...

So Let's go on the Eastern front, Spring 1944, General Winter is retreating but Her Majesty Raspoutitza is taking her toll !!

IMG_20191206_001733

This one represent one of the Hans Ulrich Rudel's bent wing bird

At this time he was at the Stab 3 SG 2

IMG_20191206_001651

well !! The name of the game for me, was to represent the Aircraft with a worn out winter camouflage...

The white paint used was a Casein based paint and was qhicly wiped out by the weather and the maintenance.

IMG_20191206_001951

The wheel pants were teared out to prevent the jamming due to the really sticky mud !!

IMG_20191206_001716

I wanted something different of the all White Stuka, However the white paint was applied with street brushes...

IMG_20191206_001937

Paints are Life color and I used Flory white to attain this effect !!

IMG_20191206_001627 IMG_20191206_001637

The interior is fairly good, I added some bits and bobs here and there but not too much !

IMG_20191206_001611

This one was already in her way when I signed to BM, so there is no WiP !

You see @Christer A, I'm cleaning up my stash :evil_laugh:

IMG_20191206_001852

i like the effect of the pants less wheels, and thus the projection of mud are reproduced too

IMG_20191206_001837

I modified the armament according to a photo !!

50Kg bomb came from a Tamiya kit, modified with scratched fuse extenders !

Ok gents, I'll try some familly pics and outside pics if the weather permit !

Let me know what you think about this "Also a bent wing bird"

Have a great modelling time !!

Take care !

Sincerely.

Simply put – one of the best Stukas I've seen in model form!

The worn-off winter camouflage is a brilliant idea and superbly implemented. The effect is very convincing, as is the rest of the finish and weathering.

Your German is not quite in the same class as your modelling, though… 😉

The word (in singular) that you're looking for in your heading is Sturzkampfflugzeug – a rather unwieldy concatenation of Sturz (fall), Kampf (fight) and Flugzeug (aircraft).

Final word: awsome model! Now just waiting for a diorama of the same class

Kind regards,

Joachim

Where did this one sneak in from CC? I haven't seen any wip posts from you on this!

Lovely build, no question, but stop hiding them under the bushes!

The worn-off winter camo has been very nicely achieved.

Very realistic.

Must say, your cockpit detail and canopy masking are spot-on too!

:goodjob:

Thank you for the kind words Sir !

Imagine rolling along in your T-34 minding your own business when this bad boy comes screaming down!  Very impressive and I love the light application of white paint.

Hello 28Z !

I'll take another pic with 2 bad boys

I've been lucky enough to be the target of a mock up attack by 5 Mustang...

Even when you know that they will not shoot at you, it's IMPRESSIVE !!

I did'nt use paint for the winter camo but Flory weathering stuff ! Great stuff indeed !

Very nice looking Stuka - the worn off winter paint and general tired look is very convincing.

Cheers

Many Thanks Malcolm !

Will I dare to say that it come from a bottle of rocket fuel ??

I started it long before joining BM, so there is no WiP but it appear in some of thread...

I think that there are no many builds under the bushes...

Thank for the kind words

Now that is a nice Stuka. Great job CC!

But I think I must force you out from the Serial kitstarter club, since you're actually finishing stuff. That's not how to do it!

;)

:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

For one finished, I start 2 or 3 other kits...

Sooo, don't you worry Christer... I'm not out of that club yet !!

Sincerely.

Looks great, especially with the unusual landing gear

Thank you Sir !

The landing gear is fom Quickboost, usually for the Hasegawa, but it fit perfectly to the Italeri one !

Great weathering job!

Looks very impressive!

Luiz.

Well, Thank you Sir !

Since there is rain, and some drops of water in between the rain squalls, exterior pics are not very possible now...

Meanwhile, the Spitfire is going on well !!

Surely one more RFI before 2020....

The schedule is established, there will be a Skyknight, a Shagbat and a Phantom...

Then I don't know yet...

Thnks for the support and the kind words Gents !!

Sincerely.

That certainly looks like a battle worn aircraft. Looks even more sinister without the wheel covers.

Thanks Paul,

Yes, it really look like a mean machine ! Sinister is the right word !

Hello Dears,

Here are some pics of what can be THE NIGHTMARE of any vehicle driver in WW II

IMG_20191212_093826 IMG_20191212_093749

the philosophy lying under each and every one of these Mud movers is quite different, but the result is the same....

They can ruin your day easily !

IMG_20191212_093837

I think that the exterior pics idea is to be forgotten now...

Thanks for your support !!

Sincerely.

Excellent work, you've captured the look of an aeroplane that's seen a lot of hard work.

Still not got a Stuka in my collection, I must remedy that.

Pete

Hello Pete !

thanks for the kind words !

If you choose a Stuka, I think that the Airfix one is easier...

The adjustements on the italeri are... Well, I better don't tell !

Hello Cousin... Another good looking build. Such a nice looking Stuka which as we all know is another bent-wing bird. :worthy:

Thank you Cousin,

In 2020, I'll finish 2 other bent wing birds... I think that the Mom of all Corsairs will get in RFI...

Aaaaand a third bent wing bird too, which is my second favourite aircraft !!

Also a Navy bird bit a bit bigger....:evil_laugh:

Sincerely.
