I think that's some of the best weathering and seagulls stanchionsĀ I've ever seen.

Ā

Even the wee details like the bits of bits of snapped rope hanging down the sides make such a difference.

Wow John how did you manage those articulated stanchions??

Ā

Scary looking stanchion gull. We have trouble here with them pinching food out of your hand. That Canadian gull stanchion looks like it would take your hand and then come back for more

Ā

Stay safe and avoid the gullsĀ :penguin:

Stay safe and avoid the gulls? I am worried as to what state the harbour patrol launch and our other MVS boats will be in when we are allowed back to them; covered/sunk by seagull poo I suspect. :poop:Note to self, find out from Head of Unit who is on jankers/wants a favour so I don't have to clean it up myself.

Well at least you only have a few inches of plastic to worry about: I've got twenty seven feet and five and a half tons!

I have to admit that I absolutely detest the creatures too!

Possibly the fastest U turn in history.

Thanks Guys, I've just realisedĀ  I've got a dead line to meet...

Ā

The 26th of May 2020 will be the 80th anniversary of the start of the Dunkirk evacuation

Ā

No pressure there then......

Great progress on this masterpiece Kev.Ā

Ā

Re your deadline, I'm assuming you are counting the end of the evacuation (4th June) as the final deadline............šŸ˜

I think itā€™s looking very nice Kev plenty of bits and pieces left lying around to show the carnage of what has been going onĀ šŸ‘

Another step in my education. I thought you were being rude. I can't pronounceĀ thalassophileĀ  but it sums up how I feel. Thanks for your kind comments John

Shows how much I've degenerated while in self imposed isolation. Ā Now I get excited when I find a new word that I can actually use. Ā My english teachers would have been so proud.

Ā

I bet it does sum up how a lot of us feel. Ā :nodding:

Having followed this in amazement I find it hard to fault, (no s'g'll's or not (hate 'em)).

Ā

The only thing that sticks out to me is the oil drum. Too cleanly painted? No rust or weathering?

Ā

Of course, if it came off one of these lovely and at the time cherished boats it wouldn't have been allowed to rust or weather.

I can' speak for anyone else but definitely so for me. Another miniature masterpiece Kev with a very poignant story to tell. Well done.Ā

As to the thallassowhatsit bit. I've never been a seaman but have sailed a little & have long enjoyed being by the sea & reading of it & experiencing it, maybe that makes me a cupboard one of those. :D

Steve.
