Hewy
👍 smashing work ,you've made that look easy , i doubt the potential geometrical banana skin of the front windows will pose no problem at all

robgizlu
Lovely wheel and wood effects. The wood effect accentuates how "square" the windows all are...........enviable Rob

longshanks
Wheelhouse receives it's wood coating I think the aft cabin needs another coat The deck of the aft cabin has received a layer of tissue to simulate the canvas covering Whilst waiting for the above paint to dry I've been finishing the wrecked dingy. This is intended to be part of the detritus on the tide line Talking detritus (which I'm often accused of). Does anyone know of any sets of WWII British infantry equipment in 1/72 out there? Thanks for stopping by Kev 5
robgizlu
Love that wood stain and the roof canvas effect. ??http://www.milicast.com/shop/product.php?productid=1355&cat=6&bestseller=Y In 1/76 though. Rob
JohnWS
She's coming along nicely, Kev. 👍 Sorry, I can't help with the infantry equipment. There's lots of Airfix, Italeri, & Heller Infantry soldier sets available on eBay over here, but not their equipment. I did a quick search on Shapeways, but no joy. Lots of tanks, trucks & Jeeps, but no infantry specific equipment except for Brodie helmets. John

longshanks
Today is the front of the wheelhouse. I get the impression that some may be concerned about modelling this area. So I thought I'd show you how I do it. This principle holds good for any 3D object you're trying to model. Excuse me if I'm teaching you to suck eggs. First off the roof. Two sheets laminated over a curved shape. Held in place and beams laminated in situ In this case I started with the front window. It's easy to establish its size and shape from plans. We need to hold it in position and at the right angle. This is attached to the model with PVA or dots of CA glue both of which are easy to break the joint afterwards Roof to check alignment Plastic or cardboard templates can be marked/whittled to fit each side as were working with two fixed edges. I use plastic strip rather than a measure to mark the window frames The two wing windows Windows fitted . Shown before any cleanup Hope this is of some use Thanks for stopping by Kev 7

Seriously, making a structure like your wheelhouse, with all those angles, is always a challenge. Well done, Kev! John
