Vinnie
Very nice Hawk. What did you use for the antennae wire?

opus999
That's terrific looking! I especially like the subtle wear on the wing roots. The scheme is really unique... I like it!
Learstang
That is beautiful! My favourite version of the P-40, the short-tailed P-40K, in that unusual grey over blue scheme - I need to do this in 1/72nd scale. Regards, Jason
RadMax8
Another cracking build from your dad! I think the VVS gray over blue is something new for me, never seen a Lend-Lease aircraft painted like that. But it suits the plane very well. Thanks for sharing this!
Greg Law
Very nice Reini. This is looking spot on. Boy my memory is going. I had forgotten your dad was doing this and I made two comments on the thread. You were lucky you didn't put the drop tank on. It was the only part I had a problem with right at the end of the build. Of course other than my wing joint. It looks like I should have spent more time on the cockpit joint as well.

Did only a Google search for Soviet P-40 and found none with drop tank, so my dad didn´t mount it. Thanks a lot for your words, appreciated!!

Learstang
Some La-7s and Yakovlev fighters were painted in this AMT-11 Grey-Blue over AMT-7 Blue scheme towards the end of the GPW. It is most unusual to see it on a Lend-Lease aircraft. Regarding the drop tank, since the Soviets used most of their fighters very near the front, I'm not surprised the P-40s in Soviet service did not carry drop tanks (or at least did not carry them very often); as frontal fighters the extra range wasn't needed. Regards, Jason Edited December 4, 2019 by Learstang Slight correction.
