drake122 Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 (edited) Well, can I have a minute of silence for my wallet? December 2019 in china/ early 2020 elsewhere, very good news indeed. Aw.... ugly seam in the middle of the canopy, can't believe we still have that in 2020, but other than that it is very exciting. Edited December 3, 2019 by drake122 1
sroubos Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 I'm not sure how they can avoid the seam in the middle. The canopy is simply wider in cross-section in the middle than at the bottom so they need to mold it sideways rather than conventionally top and bottom or the shape would be off - as in fact it is on many fighter jet kits produced before say, 2005. I'm not sure which manufacturer was the first to do this. I agree with you it's a pain to get rid off but with some fine sandpaper, a nail polishing block and some toothpaste it will buff right out - or so I'm told

sroubos Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 This happens to me whenever I grab the wooden floor cleaner and proceed to douse the kit I spent the last three months working on with it. This makes absolutely no sense to her.

Anyway, Flankerman over at the ARC forums also pointed out the middle ring of thrust vectoring nozzles is much more "sunk in" in the test build pictures than it should be. Resin replacements are probably already available though. Also the IRST ball seems to be solid grey plastic and not a clear part 😮

drake122 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I would really hope for a version with pre-tinted canopy included. Or Egyptian markings please.
