The transmission? housing

I did one part of the interior (rather fiddly levers etc) ans painted it white. Its just waiting for dust and grime to be added (some by me, some by nature)

looking good... painting on the seats looks haphazard, but how much will be seen after all...

That is what I thought too, since the gun etc. wil be covering most of the interior.

I have a bit of confusion here, please help me clear it up.

I have made the shells for putting in the racks, but the instructions say to paint them OG, please help as I think the shells should be painted brass.

The instructions:

Those seem to be cannisters, not rounds, so its possible that these are painnted OG (Olive green?)

Thank you for clearing up the confusion.

Just asking, what would they contain??

These contain the rounds:

The green tubes are cannisters that hold the rounds, the brass are ready rounds.

Oh I see

Interestingly, I found an M10 Achilles (The british version with a 17 pdr instead of a 3 inch gun) in a Punjabi music video.

The video itself is shot in Chandigarh.

the video-

The M10 can be seen between 2:10 and 2:15

Update on progress:

Lower hull before mounting canisters

The lower hull completed (mounting the canisters was a very tricky business)

The hatches, very complicated pieces in themselves.

Having got back from Pune a few updates

spacer.png

The lower half of the turret

The breech

Having done the upper half of the turret as well, I now have to westle with the ill fitting barrel of the gun.

I think I will just stick into place, the amount of plastic surgery I have had to give the front of the turret.

After one power cut and some work this is where we stand:

The lifting eyes that came with the kit proved rather flimsy and broke while cutting, as a result I had to make new eyes out of sprue.

On the other side (the gun was finally stuck into place with Fevikwik)

spacer.png

The interior of the turret (one of the seats is held in place with epoxy as it refused to stick, I finally used some heta and fused it to the turret)

This is looking great. I built this kit about 20 years ago when Academy releases it. I remember it had hard gummy tracks that no brand of paint would adhere to. I hope Airfix cast these in a different material.

The tracks are rubber band type. From my experience with Tamiya kits, only artist's acrylics adhere, as they are much thicker.

Updates:

Onto the model

The body and all is mainly done, and I built the machine guns. The M2 was a royal pain in the errrr posterior region.

Sorry for the delay. I have been rather busy the past month. The death of my grandmother and then the pressure of my boards at school.

Anyhow. This is where we stand

The green looks strange because of the light.

In better light after the decals.

Hey @Vaastav this is a really great build & some smashing holiday photos too.  I am sorry to hear about your grandmother - your memories of her will stand the teat of time & I'm sure she will live in your heart.

I will follow along with the rest of the build.

It's coming along really well. Sorry to hear about your loss.

John.

Thank you John. My grandmother passed in her sleep, so that is a consolation.
