MikeC
Found via another forum, it looks as though Tamiya are due to let us have more Mustang marvellousness in 1:32 https://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=TA 60328 1 1
Gooney Fan
Hello That is good news but what about the P-51B? Gooney Fan
ocatlub
I would love a p-51b and others in the mustang range but a F-51 only requires minor changes and can be done with only a minimal amount of investment in time and money.
Anthony in NZ
That's very cool! Thanks for the post, much appreciated. I have been waiting for this version for a long time! Cheers Anthony
Corsairfoxfouruncle
The link goes to a dead page for me ? However if it is an F-51 thats nice, though i would prefer a B/C myself. Admiral Puff
It's fatally flawed - no red/white/blue spinner ...
One 48
An easy release for them in 1/32 I suppose, not that different from their current mustang kits tooling wise, it at least shows they want to keep their hand in for 1/32 WW2 aircraft kits, maybe. I suspect it will be a long time before we see something totally new from them in 1/32, if they are going to keep doing easy releases of current kits ... what about the glass nose Mosquito and perhaps an F-16 D, their current Viper seems tooled with a possible one in mind. Smokeyr67
They’ve done enough winged Mustangs, I’d like them to do a 1/12 scale Ford Mustang from any era, even from the ugly eighties🤪

One 48
Looks a definite release sometime this year for those that want this variant, happy enough with one Tamiya P-51D here though, it is a fantastic kit as I'm sure this one will be too. Scroll down a bit on this site ... https://tamiyablog.com/category/future-releases/ Kit number 60328 1/32 North American F-51D Mustang Korean War that seems to tie in number wise with their other 1/32 Aircraft kits, probably a few months off at a guess?

Work In Progress
Not that box art matters much in the world but, blimey, they could have made it look just a *little* less like the long-standing 1/48 version

AlCZ
After two years a new 1/32 from Tamiya and it is Another re-box of "D" Stang 😕 No P-51B or P-38 in 1/32 😕 or cannon Corsairs(F-4U-4 and up) I´m not sure, can be this an best seller ? I think - not.
alt-92
Then again, it's a Tamiya, so half the sales are probably going to be because it's a Tamiya.
One 48
Probably be years now until we see anything really new from Tamiya 1/32 Aircraft wise.
MikeC
Well it's getting nearer: Hannants have it on their site for back-order, no date yet so could be next week, could be December, could be any time ... https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TA60328 As for price, I'm guessing on a par with, or slightly more than, the Pacific boxing, but that's only speculation on my part. Acinonyx Jubatus
The 39 FIS option with blue trim looks nice, but I would be too worried about messing up the MNF finish to splash out on something so expensive
colin ritchie
I'll pass for the time being , I've scratched my Korean F-51 Itch a couple of years ago using the original release of the Mustang , and a load of resin But don't be too worried about the nmf finish , the Korean Mustangs were basically a mess, stained , dirty and run down , basically a weathering dream! Willi3d
Got mine yesterday. Not much more to say since the Tamiya P-51 kit is well known. Just a couple of new sprues with the rockets, different radio gear, and the uncuffed HamStand prop.
