jenko
Does any one make the camera "pod" that goes on top of the cockpit roof of the Beaufighter? Seems it's the one thing that is missing on both the Tamiya and Revell kits. Thanks in advance. Dick
Selwyn
If I recall correctly I think this is the DF loop covered by a streamline perspex fairing. IIRC it was only fitted to Aussie aircraft? Selwyn

Dick Hi I personally cant recall anything or having seen a drawing of one but there are some photos out there would be nice to have one for a 404 Sq beau https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/uk/raf/beaufighter/wc-a-k-gatward-commander-of-no-404-squadron-rcaf-standing-in-the-cockpit-of-his-beaufighter-tf-mk-x-at-davidstow-moor/ cheers jerry Edited November 30, 2019 by brewerjerry
dogsbody
I believe Jenko is referring to this feature on later marks. The only kit I know that comes with this is the Airfix 1/72 Beaufighter TF,10. https://www.super-hobby.com/products/Bristol-Beaufighter-Mk.X-Late-TF.10.html Chris
gingerbob
Brett Green on Hyperscale reshaped another part (the DF fairing?) to make his in the Revell kit. I haven't heard of any aftermarket part, but that don't mean nuthin'.

Pete M.
Hi Dick. The only 1:48 Beaufighter kit that has the fuselage top mounted strike camera pod was the Falcon vacform kit. It comes as an opaque moulding. In many ways this kit is still way ahead of it's later injected rivals. Parts are provided to build all the radial engine marks from a Mk.1 to a thimble nosed TFX including early and late canopies and flat or dihederal tailplanes! If you are in no great hurry, I can cut it out of the sheet and mail one to you. If so, send me a pm with your address and I'll get it on the way. Cheers, Pete M.
