Valom 1/72 Armstrong-Whitworth Albemarle

Recommended Posts

** WARNING **

DO NOT INSPECT TOO CLOSELY!!  😁

Finished after a huge struggle, lots of filler and a mask set that didn't really work very well..

It's the only game in town which is why I got it in the first place. 70 grams of weight in the nose to stop it being a tail sitter.

Only recommended for the experienced modeller.

Cheers

Good to see Warren - and thanks for sharing.

As others have said, a rare beast indeed.

A beast that is alive and well in my stash, these were built by Gloster at Hucclecote,

thus a kit from Jet Age has passed my way.

Now that has to be worked into the BM GB schedule likely to be announced when the bunfight closes.

Hi Warren,

top notch build of a nice, if overlooked plane.

70 grams of lead! I wonder what the life expectancy of the undercarriage is?

Great show!!!

A somewhat rare subject nice done!

I'm sure these Valom kits don't "build themselves" by any means.

Well done!

As for nose weight, I'm reminded of a P-38 Lighting build of mine - on picking it up, it feels like a diecast!

:goodjob:

My Dad was in the very first plane to drop on D-Day which was an Albemarle from RAF Harwell. 295 Squadron 1740 8 ZA Flew by Sq Ldr Merrick. His full story is here and so is my bike ride in his memory . I set off from the end of the Runway at RAF Harwell. One of the Valom Models has his planes numbers on it !! Rich
