brianthemodeller
Hi all As I’m getting more into scratch building, can anyone recommend a good quality mitre block or cutter for evergreen rod and tube? Ideally with a variable cutting angle but 45/90 as a minimum? I’ve tried using a cheap aluminium mitre block but it was worse than useless! oh, and I have about £30 to spend! Thanks in advance Brian
Cheshiretaurus
The JLC mitre blocks are good for this there are 3 types. They require the JLC saw as other saws are too thick to fit in the slot but a razor blade will also fit. https://www.modellingtools.co.uk/jlc-tools-91-c.asp
brianthemodeller
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!! I’ll give them a call in the morning to see when they will be getting the saws back in stock.
Cheshiretaurus
Id advise getting some spare blades when you get the saw too as they do break a bit easier than you might be used to.

I ended up buying for here: https://www.super-hobby.co.uk/catalog/Tools-578605.html?search_category=578605&search_keywords=JLC&inp_div_val_0=JLC&inp_div_cat_name_0=Tools&inp_div_cat_0=578605&inp_div_val_1=JLC&inp_div_cat_name_1=Other&inp_div_cat_1=115237&inp_div_val_2=JLC+P&inp_div_cat_name_2=&inp_div_cat_2=115237&inp_div_val_3=JLC&inp_div_cat_name_3=&inp_div_cat_3=0&szukaj=search&search_buy_mode=&search_price_from=&search_price_to=&search_only_promotion=&search_only_bestseller=&search_only_new=&search_news_from_days=30&search_delivery_from[d]=&search_delivery_from[m]=&search_delivery_from[r]=&search_delivery_to[d]=&search_delivery_to[m]=&search_delivery_to[r]=&search_sort=d_score&items_per_page=30&dk_szt[7259470]=1&dk_szt[3326433]=1&dk_szt[3326421]=1&dk_szt[3326423]=1&dk_szt[3326441]=1&dk_szt[3326443]=1&dk_szt[1241725]=1&dk_szt[13866887]=1&dk_szt[3326453]=1&dk_szt[2113472]=1&dk_szt[25775790]=1&dk_szt[193432]=1&dk_szt[3326437]=1&dk_szt[193533]=1&dk_szt[3326427]=1&dk_szt[875483]=1&dk_szt[2049634]=1&dk_szt[290150]=1&dk_szt[290146]=1&dk_szt[193487]=1&dk_szt[193428]=1&dk_szt[25775788]=1&dk_szt[3126326]=1&dk_szt[1241739]=1&dk_szt[1241733]=1&dk_szt[1659470]=1&dk_szt[3326455]=1&dk_szt[2559671]=1&dk_szt[1659495]=1&dk_szt[193491]=1&newsletter=&last_active_input=search_keywords&start=0&grupa_p=9
brianthemodeller
JLC mitre box ordered and duly delivered from Paul at Modelling Tools (formerly Little Cars?) It looks to be a cracking but of kit but I’m not allowed to know about it until Christmas! Thanks everyone for the help.
