imp999
My first real post here. Finished this one a couple of months back. I made life a bit difficult trying to replicate this aircraft. Quite a bit of dispute whether it had a yellow tail or white. Nose gun troughs were only described as "light" in the crash report, too. Great kit to make & detail. Really enjoyed it.
gazza l
Very nicely done. Can't believe it's a 40yr old kit! gazza l
keith in the uk
Wow that's a great result from the old Matchbox kit judging by the pic of the real aircraft I would say the fuselage crosses on your model are a little undersized , apart from that a fantastic model , well done . chrisbob12
Great result! I think the paint finish lifts it to a whole new level.
jenko
You have worked wonders on the kit. Never would say it was 40 years old. As an aside. The pilot was Werner Bartels and this aircraft (with him in it) was shot down over East Kent and came to rest just down the road from me near the railway line at St. Peters, Broadstairs. Buzby061
That's certainly scrubbed up well. Did one when it first came out, quite a nice kit if I remember correctly. Pete
imp999
"Just down the road from me" Yes, I sometimes forget this history stuff went on in our back yard........... Fuselage crosses were smaller than standard, I believe, and the only ones I had were some 1/48s. Slightly too small enough! Thanks for your kind comments. Mark. Spitfire31
Congrats for turning that mediocre old kit into an evocative '09! Per ardua ad astra. Kind regards, Joachim

Baldy
Very nice job from that old kit. It really was ahead of it's time back then wasn't it!? Lovely finish and subtle weathering too! Cheers Malcolm
Rob K.
Very nice. Would love to see it against a black or white backdrop, I’ll bet it would shine on BM even more considering the age of the kit. Very nicely done👍
