Possible to create 3 D fIle with 2D file ( 3 Views of Airplanes ) ? Thanks Neffan. Creating a 3D file is within seconds. Creating a 3D model takes hours to weeks depending on the part. Printing a part depends on height of the piece, roughly 6-8seconds per layer of 0.01-0.05mm height. You can create a rough model from 3 view or use them as reference but the real surface curvature might be significantly different than the generated model. Serkan Sen
Some NLG bay details were added: There are some other details to be added and it will be very challenging to print the part as a single piece. Most probably I will divide the bay into couple of manageable parts... Serkan Edited March 17, 2021 by Serkan Sen

Serkan Sen
I may add the Qbay details in future... Who knows? 😁 I found some reference drawings in past that shows camera and hatches:

Iceman 29
You are doing a great job with the Blackbird. I find it difficult to model planes because you don't have the construction lines like on ships. I am planning to model and print a seaplane, the Martin Mars M-170, which I like very much. I already have a lot of documentation and two examples still exist. What 3D software do you use?

Somehow the forum is not showing me as this topic owner... 🤔 You are right, the aircrafts have much curved surfaces with changing slope and shape which makes them difficult to model. But using 3 view drawings and sectional cuts it is still possible to get reasonable models. I am using mostly Freecad which has an interface looks like Catiav5 (which I am using at work). I will give try for Fusion 360 but I need to install it first. Regards Serkan
Serkan Sen
I have recently completed the nose landing gear assembly modelling: I have modeled the tyre with a best guesstimated cross-section profile. The wheel is still missing. I will add it when I get detailed material about the wheel shape. But in overall the 3D strut model looks much better than the Italeri one: Serkan Edited September 7, 2021 by Serkan Sen

KingTiger435
just read through all of it, can't believe I've missed out on this so far, incredible stuff, definitely following.
Serkan Sen
When I finish the NLG bay and assembly parts should I model AG330 starter cart as next? I have checked Hypersonic Models kit but this tiny model is a bit costly. I think I can model most of the details in few days... 🤔 Serkan
LorenSharp
I would Serkan. That's what I had planned to do when I finally get around to doing my A-12. Not only cheaper, but probably add more detail than they have.
Serkan Sen
Last few days I was busy with updating the rest of the model and bring all the parts to same scale in 1:72: Having no details in afterburner area looks not so nice. I will add some J-58 details soon. Serkan

Serkan Sen
I have started to model J-58 but the model won't be fully detailed (i.e. the pipes and tubes won't be modeled). The model will have only the details which are visible from exhaust and intake (e.g. afterburner can, engine exhaust, inlet guide vanes and the first compressor stage which were already modelled). After a quite long search I have found this side view of J-58 which gives the best contour: The rest was very simple: draw the outline contour and rotate it around centre line... Here are the first shots of complete engine assembly including dummy engine: Next step is to add some details at exhaust area... Serkan Sen
The exhaust external details were added. What is seen from the back view inside the nozzle is the first compressor stage as the engine tube is still empty: Here is the real versus the model: Looks not so bad!.. Next is to add some afterburner details... Serkan Edited September 12, 2021 by Serkan Sen
