Marlin
Hi Andy350, and thanks. I'm banking on just that. As you can see I've left the seat out in my build. I did some dryfitting and it shouldn't be a problem to add the seat later on. /Bosse

Initially I was going to go with open, but I don't think I will be able to show off that well, and so can hide a lot with the canopy down.
Marlin
I'm going with an open canopy for mine. /Bosse

Andy350
Hi Bosse, did you fit the radar, it seems that there is no way to show this off?
Marlin
Hi Andy. No I didn't. I'm not so much for open hatches and such. So I just dropped in a noseweight and glued the radome in place. /Bosse

I actually had a bit of luck. I had a ready made white metal nose weight from Eduards Mirage IIICJ over. So I used that one and it seems to be enough. I guess it weighs around 15-20g. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Some more work has been done on my Starfighter. The nose cone has got some colour. I was about to paint it white, but thankfully I discovered in time that it should be in a very light grey colour. 119 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I couldn't find out the exact colour, so I used RAL 7035, which is what I think is right. And the bombs have been glued to the bombracks. 120 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll mount them to the pylons after they've been stenciled. This weekend my youngest son and I are having a Father & Son build weekend, so I guess that I'll have this one clear coated, and perhaps I've even started on the gazillon of stencils from the Daco set before the weekend is out. To be continued..... /Bosse

Marlin
Hi. The Starfighter has got one coat of gloss varnish, but I'll add a second coat to ensure that the decals has a smooth surface to adhere to. 121 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr To be continued..... /Bosse

Did you have any problem fitting the wing tip tanks. Mine were odd, even though they were just fitted with no adjustment.
Marlin
Hi Andy, Yes I did. They point in a rather odd angle. And since I more or less welded them to the wings with Tamiya Extra Thin I'll have to live with it. I'll have to more careful with them on the next one. /Bosse

I will build another one at some point and will make sure they are level, you would think that they would be level as they are only pushed on. Next time I will go for open canopy and air breaks, maybe with side winders. Looking forward to your completed build.

Hook
Excellent! I have that decal set in 1/72nd, along with its Belgian companion. Did you use a metallic for the RAL7006 undersides? Cheers, Andre

Cheers, Andre Thanks for asking Andre, I don't exactly recall which one I used, but it could have been one of the Vallejo or Hataka colours I bought specifically for this project. I'll have a look at the instructions and see if I made a note of which one I used. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Here's a quick update on my stenciling... With now three session I've added a total of 42 stencils and decals to my Starfigher. 342 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 343 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 344 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I've only done 2/3 of this side, plenty more to come. Marlin
Hi. I hope you all are enjoying the summer. Late last week I did some more stencils on my Startfighter, five session and 80 stencils/decals so far. I've now completed the left hand side of the fuselage. 345 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And some large Iron Crosses on the wings. 346 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Some stencils over the Iron Crosses. 347 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And a good number of stencils on top of the wingtip tanks. 348 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr This build will now slip down the build que a bit since I've started an F-16 for the F-16 STGB II, which will be my main concern the coming month. But I will from time to time also work on this one, and my stalled Tornados. To be continued..... /Bosse
