TEXANTOMCAT
Hi all , please do tell me to sod off if I'm putting too many up - this is the first forum I've ever shared my models with! Another model for Sywell Aviation Museum - we have the original ops boards for the 79th FS, 20th FG on display. This is the amazing 1/48 MENG kit which just fell together - I was intrigued by the push fit thing - and it bloomin works! No filler needed but I glued for longevity- nicked the pilot and the closed tailwheel doors from the Airfix P-51- perfect fit. For the first time I used a Mig Wash - I mainly use Humbrol stuff (except on this occasion when I used Tam spray paint - their AS11 is amazing) blue-black I think - and some oilbrusher grime and starship filth - again another first for me. I think the decals came from Kits World and they were lovely. I love the Coastal Kit bases too - great impression of speeeeeed! Vinnie
Nice one,Tomcat. It really gives the illusion of speed as well.👍
Spitfire31
Great action packed Mustang impression! I can almost hear the roar of the Packard Merlin… It seems that Meng didn't know that P-51 wings were puttied and sanded and painted silver up to, at least, the position of the mainspar, in order to milk the best performance from the laminar flow wing profile… 😉 Kind regards, Joachim

Vlad
The presentation is spectacular! After a recent discussion about the unpopularity of "in flight" displays, I have to say you've knocked it out of the park. I'd love to see more models like this, the plane in its adrenaline pumping, seat-of-your-pants element! 😎 Edited November 15, 2019 by Vlad

I just finished Hasegawa's offering and had to fill in the panel lines and a quick look at the new Eduard kit shows panel lines as well. I filled in Tamiya's panel line also Edited November 15, 2019 by fubar57 Freakin' negative typos man

I suppose if, for instance, Tamiya took the lead in this regard, they'd get a deluge of angry mails criticising them for skimping on the detailing… Kind regards, Joachim
