Wow, that takes me back . . . I remember them being one of the main attractions at Wethersfield's " Open Days " back in the 60's, and also hearing them trundle over on their way to Mildenhall. you've done a superb job there, Mark. What paint did you use for the aluminium finish ?  👍

Thanks for the comment. Believe it or not, I use craft paint and seal it with Liquitex varnish. Like the results and have used this combo method for a few years. Also, you can mix the varnish into your paint and save a step from having to seal with a clear coat. The varnish comes in gloss, satin and flat.

Best build of Ole Shakey I have seen so far! A largely forgotten hauler, but one that served long and well for the USAF. IIRC, there is one that is being restored to flight. I remember them flying in  and out of Kelly AB in the late fifties and sixties. First one I remember seeing was at Itazuke AB, Japan in '55 at an Armed Forces Day display. No radome and white above the cockpit- mighty big airplane  to an 8-year old! I would love to see a 1/72 kit, but doubt I will live long enough to see one....maybe by Valom?

Thanks for the comment Mike! Nice profile picture. What aircraft are you seated in?

Wish that were me! It's an F-5, I think. I do have a color slide of me sitting in the cockpit of the 8th FBG C.O.'s F-86F-30 with his helmet on when I was nine; as soon as I figure out how, I will replace my avatar with that one! Thanks for asking.
