Only just found this, very nice. I particularly liked the blood stained floor, what colour did you use for that?

Hi Spad, and thanks.

The floor is more done that way to represent rust and wear and tear from hobnail boots, etc. I used various paints and wash's to get it that way, from AK warm and dark wood deck wash from their naval series. Followed by mixed pigments and final a touch of dark brown panel liner by Tamiya.

Great work as ever Simon, particularly like your way with worn, scuffed and scraped paintwork.

Whilst poss not to everyone's taste the mud affect is really well done. Are you doing any figures to go with it?

Cheers

Hi Darryl

Thanks mate.......

I like to try and capture a moment in time. I know there are a few that like them cleaner, but from archive images; the Eastern Front anf the German "make do and mend" realities.........lends to very worn vehicles. I mean here's a mudguard-less one here.....No mudguard results in mud being thrown vertically, ending up all the way to the rear at speeds of 25 mph +

As regards figures, nothing planned at present, but I have a few in the stash that will fit this one. Maybe next year.

Hi Simon, no problem with a well used,  muddy and battered vehicle here!

As long as it's done well, which yours most certainly is, even more so when the inspiration comes from a period photo. Think it can add a bit of uniqueness and character to a model, gives it some "life", background, tells a story if you will.

That said you do see some shockers, thinking of a recent modelling mag front cover, the large "splats" where just odd in colour and position.

With both aeroplanes and afvs a very clean one tone (as opposed to one colour), unweathered finish can look dead and one dimensional. (IMO).

Looking forward to the next one.

Cheers
