zebra
Another flying boat finished in the Flying Boats and Floatplanes II group build. This is the Anigrand 1/144 Beriev A-40 Mermaid. Another enjoyable build. I'm now moving on to the Eastern Express Beriev Be-200 - build thread for both of these is here. Thanks for looking Julian
Mig88
Lovely job! It looks fantastic. I have this kit in my stash and really hope it comes out as well as yours. Miguel
roginoz
That's a stunner, Julian, and in that grey paint, looks mean and threatening. Reckon you've got the colour spot on ! Another on my wants list, but I think I'll go for 1/72 with my failing eyesight ......... Hope the decals from EE are better than those supplied for my Amodel Be200, another of your builds I'll be following with interest. We seem to be of common mind when it comes to these Russian beauties. Rog

zebra
Thanks everyone @roginoz I didn’t think there was an A-40 kit in 1/72 - if there isn’t there should be, it would be awesome, and pretty huge

roginoz
Julian, I'm given to understand that Amodel may have kitted the A-40 in 1/72; I believe Flankerman has built one. As you say, if there isn't one, there should be !

I wish !! I've done the R-1... Be-10 and Be-200... but not the Mermaid as there is, as yet, no kit in 1/72 scale. Excellent model Julian - I must have missed the memo about the Anigrand kit - I didn't know it existed. Ken
roginoz
Thanks, Ken, for clearing that up - must have been having yet another senior moment........ Getting mixed up with the Be-10, perhaps. Sorry for the red herring, Julian ! Rog
zebra
Thanks @Flankerman. I'm working on the Be-200 now, and will get to the R-1 shortly. I really should add a Be-10 to the line-up.

bryanm
Very nice - shame the real one hasn't been more of a success.
Flankerman
As well as Fairford, I've seen it at it's home test base at Gelendzhik on the Black Sea..... It is a stunning sight..... In formation with the smaller Be-200.... Ken
