Bf 109 STGB Chat

Col.

Recommended Posts

Lt. Kyösti Karhila (32,25 kills, of which 21 with Bf 109:s), W/O Ilmari Juutilainen (94/58), Lt. Heimo Lampi (14/8) and Capt. Hans Wind (74,5/36) have a few words about flying the Mersu in combat. The total score number is the latest official claim and the Messerschmitt-score a very quick calculation by yours truly for this post only - so don´t quote it .

Oh - I´m about to build Capt. Wind´s last mount in the Interceptor GB, if I only clear my desk from previous engagements! V-P

I've just spotted this GB. Having bought an Airfix BF109E from Aldi for the cheap price of £5, I'm in!

Welcome along Richard. We've a bit of time before this one starts if you need to add a few more options into the mix ;)

I must not buy any more kits

I must not buy any more kits

I must not  b......remembers the model shop in Ashby is opening again on Thursday after lockdown and they have some decals for me. Might accidentally buy another kit from there......

Remember if there's multiple options on the decal sheet it's better to buy more kits to make use of them. Otherwise those decals will go to waste and that won't be good value for money ;)

Fortunately for me, my wallet and my modest :hmmm: Bf 109G decal stash, the AZmodel Joypacks have become unobtainable...

I'm very happy for the triplet of Hasegawa Gustavs I have in stash, waiting for the end of May next year :yahoo:

Edit: I admit I'm getting lazy - I just bought three sets of canopy paint masks for the triplet. I once swore I'd never buy masks for a simple job like that, but look what happened...

Excellent! Please add my name to the list.

Something not too complicated in 1/72, maybe try out Tamiya's Bf109G-6.

Cheers

Ooh that ought to be the ultimate proper scale one-o-nine and an engineering masterpiece! V-P

I expect there will be quite a few appearing V-P...

Of course, whether it will be a modelling masterpiece remains to be seen!

I'm a bit late to the party and I'm not 100% sure of the rules for entry.

Can I enter my Bf109e in Japanese hands? Airfix 1:72nd.

There is a WIP thread in the WIP area, not sure if that's against the rules.

I'll have to read up.

:)

OOOPs, I've just seen it's 2021, not 2020.

Maybe another time :)

You can do another one next year as you’ve seen we still have got a ways to go.

Hi Col,

Lurking in my stash are 1 Bf 109E-7 trop, 2 109F, 4 assorted 109-G and one 109K, all in 1/72, so count me in.

Pete

Sounds as if you've enough there to do your own personal STGB Pete :D

Sign me up please, I do enjoy a good 109 😍.

I have plenty of candidates in the stash in the 3 popular scales E's F, and G's. Between now and the start of the GB will allow plenty of time to choose.

Cheers Greg 👍

Maybe do one each in a different scale, then take a forced perspective photo. It’ll look like an line of aircraft on a tarmac.
