Folkbox1
I see there is the old Tamiya kit available and a newer Meng kit (but getting on for three times the price). How do these kits compare and is it worth the extra for the Meng kit?
Seahawk
No idea about the Meng kit - never seen one - but be warned that the Tamiya Rodney is in pre-war configuration. Building a model of her in her wartime heyday means cross-kitting with the Tamiya Nelson (which comes in 1945 configuration).
Paul H
Meng's Rodney is a snap-kit - to give an idea of what it is like, here's a link to the review on here of the Bismarck in the same series: I built both the Rodney & Bismarck last year when off work recovering from pneumonia as a way of keeping myself occupied without taking on anything too complex or taxing. They were unpainted (which is why I chose them), but I was quite happy with the results. Let me know if you'd like some pics.

Thanks for the heads up - I sort of assumed they would be of the same period so might go for the Nelson if I have a choice 🙂
