P-51D Mustang 1/72

Recommended Posts

A small project in order to recharge the mojo.  This P-51D Mustang in 1/72 was done using an old tool Airfix kit.  Basically as a kit it is ok, fit was ok apart from a small issue with the fuselage that was taken care of by some filler.

The kit was sprayed with the humbrol metalcote range, in order to create various shades of aluminium

It was finished off with a satin coat and Starship Filth from Oilbrushers.

The figures where all brush painted and weathered with oil

Finally the Marston Mat, was created by printing a template, holing it, one by one and then finished off with Humbrol MetalCote Polished steel

A very nice setting and a creative job on the diorama.

But if I were the group commander and my plane looked like this I would have the crew chief court-marshalled 😉

Nice job, especially like what you did with the marston mat, but you may have got a bit enthusiastic with the starship filth!

Thanks for the comment, appreciate it, the reason behind the overweathering was a sense I have got that at the time general maintenance was next to nothing, due to the flight hours that were being logged, still and fortunately for me that can be corrected with turpentine since, there isn't a finishing coat covering it :)

They have been there all the time, on PC as well as on smartphone, but sometimes it took a while before they appeared. Next time maybe try to import them with a line break in-between.

On PC.  No pics for me after 15 minutes.

Maybe you can see them on my facebook page...... Christopher Ellul or on the facebook page called Malta Scale Modellers (they were posted on that one last Saturday)

I still can't see them, even on my PC. I just see a line of connected file names/URLs. :(
