Black Knight
I finished this a couple of weeks ago. First thing - a big shoutout of thanks to theplasticsurgeon who very kindly sent me a replacement set of Airfix decals This was languishing on a shelf waiting to be finished. It just lacked the decals. Despite two (or more coats) of Liquid Decal Film my original Airfix decals just splintered into pieces.
Robin-42
Looks great! Don’t feel bad about it languishing. Mine, despite being in the disply cabinet, still doesn’t have it’s drop tanks finished after about 20 years!

kapam
A mighty good result on what I believe is a fairly old-school kit! Ultimately, you got the decals and paint finish to really look great. Well done!

Contemporary kits worth looking at in the same vein are the F-80 Shooting Star and the F-84F Thunderstreak. The only issue that some modern modellers might not like are the raised panel lines. stevej60
Beautiful job BN,looks superb in its original scheme,I picked up one for a fiver on E-bay and had the decals on the bedroom window to bleach out the yellowing along with an original Airfix Skyraider and Phantom sheet, left the window open and a rainstorm swept in, the missus wasn't to happy to see loads of decals floating along the windowsill! 1

Not really an issue for me. I know why recessed lines are more popular these days, but it can be argued that it actually may not suit all subjects. For instance, I have built Hasegawa's old B-17F and now I have acquired a G-model. The slightly raised lines on these kits may actually work better than recessed for this type. And somehow I think Hasegawa did a pretty good job getting the overall shape & form correct on their B-17's. Only my 10 cents worth though...….😬
