Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) Hello everybody... So I'm going to try this again. I have the correct kit this time, i purchased the over-tree’s kit of this. Which does include the correct wing for my plane. To remind everyone these are the decals I will be using. These were a gift from Craig - @modelling minion and his friend in Serbia. I will be doing white 44 as it is my favorite #. For all that are following my “Der Adler” build. You are welcome to follow along. This includes @Sturmovik, @opus999, @f111guru, and @Gondor44. I will start sometime over the next few days. If anyone has questions, comments, good stories or jokes please go ahead and ask or tell them. Dennis Edited November 3, 2019 by Corsairfoxfouruncle 12
opus999 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Alright! Can't wait to see this. And I"m in the front row too! 1
Col. Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Excellent. There's something about seeing the 109 in other markings that grabs my attention so will be watching your progress That UMe-109 looks interesting, wonder if I can butcher that spare Eduard G-6 in my stash to suit? 1
modelling minion Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Great to see this one underway Dennis. Seeing how good your other G-10 build is this one should be something special too, and the scheme is fantastic which always helps . 1
f111guru Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Happy to follow along Dennis. Have a number of 109 kits in the stash. Good luck to you Ron VanDerwarker 1
Sturmovik Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Following this, I want to see another 109 being built. 1
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted November 3, 2019 Author Posted November 3, 2019 Most likely you will but it will probably be one of the four i still need for my “Pip’s” builds. Im going to the one local swap meet that occurs in Chicago every year next Saturday. I still need his E1 & E3 along with his F2 & F4. Hopefully I will find something to satisfy that need. Ive got an AMG Bf.109D coming from Telford next week as I've asked someone going there to grab one. That will get built in the next few months as a SCW or Polish Campaign bird. I have an Heller Bf.109 B/C kit that is marked for the Heller Group build next year which definitely will be SCW. The 109 is one of my more favored designs of the war, particularly the Emils. I do enjoy the Luftwaffe aircraft as the options for markings are pretty much endless. 2
Gondor44 Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Thank you for reserveing me a front row seat @Corsairfoxfouruncle, I am sure that you must have got someone elses name wrong and ended up with my name on the seat 🙄 Saying that, it's an Me 190 which I like so I will follow regardless. Gondor 1
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) Hello Gondor... You had liked my initial post for the original try at this plane. I thought i would tag you and see if you were interested. Happy to have you on board. I did get the initial work done today on this. I started by doing the cockpit, yes i know its not very original doing that. But here is the office. I didn't even lose the fuel line this time either. The other G10 will be done in a day or two, just finishing some items on that. Then its weathering and satin coat. Questions, comments, and or thoughts ? Dennis Edited November 4, 2019 by Corsairfoxfouruncle 6
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 Hello @Sturmovik have you seen this build before ? Its a masterclass of an early “Anton” build. Im going to use this as a guide for my two D kits when i build them. Dennis 2
Biggles87 Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 I’ll squeeze in at the back. I used to build quite a lot of ‘109s but not lately. John 1
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted November 13, 2019 Author Posted November 13, 2019 Hello everyone... If I seem absent over the next few days please accept my apologies in advance. Ive had an incident family wise, and SWMBO needs me more. Her mother had a minor stroke and we will of course be concentrating on her care. I will check in when time allows but have stopped my building for the time being. Dennis 2
Biggles87 Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Family comes first every time. Best wishes. John 1
modelling minion Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Really sorry to hear about your mother-in-law Dennis, you are quite right that family comes first. Best wishes to you and your family mate. 1

Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted November 19, 2019 Author Posted November 19, 2019 Well with all the family troubles slowly subsiding. I was able to attack this and a few others today. Questions, comments, and or thoughts ? Dennis 4
Col. Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Glad to see things are calming and you're getting back to the bench Dennis. 1
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted November 27, 2019 Author Posted November 27, 2019 Keep trying to do work and after 30 minutes of work I find out that i have to run errands ? Slowly i get there ? Dennis 4
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) Hello one and all... Finally able to do a little work today, being sick stinks. So the 109 is sanded re-scribed and all the stabs, flaps, and rudder are attached. I deflected these much like the last G10. The slight difference being they're in opposite directions on the ailerons and rudder. Paint is up next. Questions, comments, and or thoughts ? Dennis Edited December 12, 2019 by Corsairfoxfouruncle 9
Sturmovik Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Nice to see you back at it, it's looking pretty good. 1
opus999 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Wow, that looks great! I haven't had the courage to try doing a "Flaps down" build, although with the Eduard spitfires it would be pretty easy. 1
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted December 20, 2019 Author Posted December 20, 2019 Slowly but surely we creep closer. I was able to get the lt. blue on the belly today. Family Crimbo party tomorrow so no work until Sunday. I will spray the base grey color and then free hand the brown camouflage in the same session. I think i can try to get this knocked out by New years. Questions, comments, and or thoughts ? Dennis 5
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 Cleared the wing just now, it will be ready to mask and spray the upper colors tomorrow.
