Adam Poultney
So I gather that this GB is all about finishing shelf queens... I also see the 25% rule doesn't apply, so I have a number of models that fit the bill, ranging from still in assembly to finishing off the decals. This is one that just needs decals, weathering and all the little bits and adding. Hope no one minds me putting up a few entries, I have a number of projects I'd love to get on with. There's the original WIP thread ^^ And this is what the model looks like now. Edited January 16, 2020 by Adam Poultney
Adam Poultney
First thing I need to do is dust off the model. Looking much cleaner than it did and ready for completion. The pitot tubes have been removed so I don't break them This will be tidying up a little The canopy will not be glued on on this model. It slots on nicely.
Adam Poultney
Most of the decals already applied are mainly just the fuselage roundels and any serials. A decal has to go over those (inaccurate) vortex generators. Think on the next one (if I can get hold of another) I'll just remove them. I cut into the decal which should make it easier. I'll patch it up afterwards with xtracolour pale roundel red
Back in the Saddle
Looking good Adam. I have this one in the stash - once the Vulcan and Victor are finished, I might have to complete the trio!
Adam Poultney
Wouldn't take a tenner for it? They're not worth all that much I look forward to seeing your WIP, which scheme do you plan on doing?
Back in the Saddle
Not sure - like you, I have the conversation kit, which gives me a few more options... Both the camoflage and white schemes look good. However, the Victor and Vulcan will be in camouflage, so I’m currently inclined to do the Valiant the same way... we shall see - I’m completely on the fence at the moment! Work won’t start for a while, so I’ll have plenty of time to think about it.

Wouldn't mind doing the tanker though. I think it'd be nice to do camouflage, I don't think we see enough of them in that scheme. Might even do the Mikromir one in that scheme if I ever get around to building one of that kit.
Graham Boak
A PR scheme wouldn't carry red, but an aircraft used for winter trials would.

Adam Poultney
Getting a bit more work done. Decals and doctor who, which was too my surprise, actually pretty decent compared to the previous series. Only got two decals on in that time. Next up was the other side's fin flash. This time I just removed part of the decal to replace with paint. Much easier. I have found another Airfix Valiant kit for a very good price, so I'll be building another once this is done and my newest Victor is done. Then a quick photo and edit with my first Victor (and the little one flying in behind)

Back in the Saddle
Very nice! I have one in the stash, but have listed it on eBay this week - too many models to build and with two Victors and two Vulcans, I’m also running out of space! The Valiant, whilst a great aircraft, just doesn’t float my boat as much as the other V bombers...
CliffB
Congratulations Adam. It's nice to see your V bomber collection coming together. Cheers
