MiG-21MF 1/72 Eduard

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Here is another my model!

In assembeling I used a lot of aftermarket sets. This is the Eduard photo etching from the kit. Eduards rockets R-13 and nozzle. Pilot tube from Master. The gun, all sorts of small air intakes and flaps of the Quickboost. Airintake of the Mini World,  Neomegas ejection seat, R-3R rockets and wheels from Reskit. From myself I added only wiring to the nose gear. I painted the model with NATAKA paints. Top colors from the set, the bottom interfered. Weathering - oil dots, pigments and a wash of dark blue on the bottom and dark brown on the top.

Excellent MiG. It's obvious that a lot of care and skills went into this jewel of a model. And I do like the subtle weathering – it's good to see a MiG that doesn't look like it's inspired by the rows of dilapidated semi-wrecks stored outdoors at the Kbely Aviation Museum outside Prague!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Lovely work, it's got a couple of kills as well, any details on those?

About air vistorys only information from instruction.

On October 22nd, 1973, according to Arab sources unconfirmed by Israeli ones, Namiq Saadallah shot down an Israeli Mirage III. Seven years later, in the war
with Iran, 1st Lt. Sadik shot down an Iranian F-4E Phantom II with an R-13M missile flying this airplane. The front of the aircraft carried the Arabic numerals
1019 and below the windscreen was a record of the kills achieved in this aircraft.
