Sherman Firefly 1c, Welded Hull.

Recommended Posts

This is my build of a Sherman Firefly 1c of the 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry, 4th Armoured Brigade. I’ve taken some liberties with the stowage as I don’t actually have a photo of the tank, so it’s basically just my interpretation.

The WIP can be found HERE.

As usual a top class job there John always good to see a well presented British Sherman Tank the 17 pounder makes it look so much better 👍🏻

Top job John, reminds me to build my IC variant.

Thanks Ozzy. I've still got a 1c Hybrid tucked away and a Vc also, so there'll be more along in a while.

Thanks Pete. Thanks Beefy. Yes, that 17pdr gave it a menacing look. No wonder that they tried to disguise it.

Brillant John, I really like this, though I think maybe the tool are too clean, ;) maybe freshly issued with a film of preservative grease.  :D

Steve.

Ah, but this was after a visit from the RSM:). I'll probably get around to smearing a little dirt on them.

Cracking build John, looks the part indeed mate.:goodjob:  Really enjoyable build to follow with the end result being superb.

Going to ask though, what’s next ?

Thanks Dan. Next? Well, hopefully I'll get some work done on the Tiran 4, but seeing as I'll be up at Telford next month, who knows what little gem I might pick up.

Sweet! I enjoyed your description of how you do the woodwork on shovels etc, I intend to use that in the future.

Thanks Phil. Glad to have been of some use, just don't do what I did and handle it before the oil paint dried:o.

Hi John, that looks the business to me, I have the Dragon M4 that I have made into a !c.  It's just in the queue for painting, then I need a pair of 1/35 socks to be drying on the barrel of the 17 pounder. :penguin:

Superb build John

Thanks Kev. I just realised that I clicked onto to a laughing face instead of a thank you. Sorry about that, I've changed it now.
