Walter
Hi Guys Here we go, I’m using this kit by Tamiya as the base build for an early BF 109 Night Fighter flown by 10. Staffel IV. Gruppe Nachtjagdgeschwader 1 G9+JV Not all 109's had the PielG IV system, this could have been by choice or it just depends when the photo was taken as there is a photo of this plane without the PielG. IV. This kit is very clean no flash, good start! I started by painting all the bits that need RLM02 on the sprue, I’ll cut and paint during assembly. Oh boy! 7 different colours just for the cockpit. Wings assembled fits really well.
Walter
Fuselage and wings completed, this kit has gone together very nicely no gaps and perfect fit. 20191024_184605
Walter
First coat of paint, I'm doing very light coats and will be using 3 different blacks, Base black is Gunze Tire Black, second coat will be RLM74 and then RLM22. I will do some light sanding in between with 1200 grit. I'm hoping to create a clean weathered look, rather than a clean black showroom finish that I've seen everyone else do with this subject. Edit: just noticed the pics don't show the light coat, but it definitely isn't. Edited October 26, 2019 by Walter
Adam Poultney
Very nice, love the 109. This looks better than Airfix's kit, I may have to get one of these
Walter
Almost done, getting better at canopy masking and first antenna wire I've ever done, still to be painted just waiting for glue to dry. Last step will be decals.

Walter
6 minutes ago, Putty Animal said: Peddinghaus strikes again! 😞 Has Ernst done this before, he's printed it in 1/48 but labled it 1/72, I've sent him an email because he doesn't realise the error. I hope he will rectify it. Edited November 14, 2019 by Walter
Hook
ICM did a boxing with these decals as well, it might be worthwile asking around in the Spares section if anyone built this as a stanard day fighter: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/icm-72134-bf-109e-4--139015 Cheers, Andre
