billn53
Built for the "Year I was Born" Group Build, here is Special Hobby's D-558-2 "Skyrocket", flown by Scott Crossfield on November 20, 1953. On that flight, Crossfield broke the Mach 2 "barrier", reaching Mach 2.005 in a shallow dive. It was the only Mach 2 flight the Skyrocket ever made. Not very many parts, but a bear to build. My WIP can be found here: Thanks for viewing! -Bill

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Beautiful work ! ... Always love seeing the early X types. I can just hear Crossfield saying this to Yeager. “ Chuck loan me a stick of Beeman’s, I’ll pay you back later.”
Eric Mc
I thought that was Jack Ridley's catch phrase (at least, according to "The Right Stuff" film). Nice rendition.
