FPDPenguin
Obviously in the interests of fairness, there are other auction and online sites, as well as other sellers. I'm in no way affiliated with tamiya tape knock off brands Screenshot of one of my purchases It does of course get here via the 'slow boat from China' but for 1.50 what do you expect? 1
OutcastJoel
@FPDPenguin I have now purchased a few very thin rolls from the obvious auction site, i hopefully will have finished this build by the time they turn up but you never know. Thanks for the advice. @stevehnz that is very kind, thank you. It is my first kit as an adult so really pleased with how it is going! The decals for the roundels were cracked so i cut some masks and started spraying, until very old gummed up Humbrol acrylic stopped play... Off to Boyes after work tomorrow I think! 20200108_201726_Film2 by Joel, on Flickr Edited January 12, 2020 by OutcastJoel
OutcastJoel
Whilst painting the roundels I discovered a few things: 1. Stickers do not make good masks 2. Painting roundels is crazily fiddly with all the application and lifting of different masks 3. I suck at judging the right level of thinning for spraying paint... OutcastJoel
A small amount of cellulose thinners and some makeup sponges made light work of the horrible bleeds. 20200110_184508_Film2 by Joel, on Flickr I can't find the tail flash so that will be the next bit. OutcastJoel
Inspired by a few builds on here i took a razor saw to the tailplane so I could have the slight droop most Javelins seemed to have on the ground 20200110_184448_Film2 by Joel, on Flickr
