Red Dog
Been busy today taking pics of a few models finished recently. Hasegawa's 1/48 P-51D OOB except Albion Alloys gun barrels and Aussie decals P-51 Mustangs Europe WWII - RAAF (A48003) Another sweet build - love it when there are no snags to halt the build. 3 Sqn RAAF based in Fano, Italy 1944 converted to the P-51K Mustang giving them a colourful blue rudder with the Southern Cross. Colors were U.S equivalents of the RAF's Dark Green and Ocean Grey over Medium Sea Grey. Mixed from Tamiya colors to be slightly different from their own versions of RAF day fighter scheme colours. Please enjoy 44

Is that freehand airbrush work on the camouflage? Blue tak sausages (that's what it's called here in Oz - used to stick posters and the like to walls) Painted grey x 4 (base, shadow, highlight & base again) blue tak sausages with masking tape & paper to cover grey areas then painted green x 4 coats (base, shadow, highlight & base again)
Nikola Topalov
Hi Red Dog, Great work! I like the subject and I like what you did with it! I am a newbie so in my very humble opinion, maybe the color variation within the camo could be a bit subtler, because from some angles it almost looks like a camo within a camo. Just an observation on otherwise great build. Keep it up. Cheers, Nikola

The same has happened to the panel line shading on this HB Me 262 A-2a/U2.

Red Dog
Cheers bertielissie, Grew up and lived in Melbourne for the first 21 years before galavanting around the country and settling down in Tassie. Got have a bit of colour in there and being Aussie too, couldn't go past it. Thanks again
