One of the cool things I learned on The Great Pilgrimage is that Merlin exhaust stacks vary so wildly, it's very hard to do something wrong with them, but I think what you did and what I did produced similar results, so we can both agree it's The One True Way. I've been pushing along today. No photos, but the Spitfires are glossed, and the wheels are painted and ready for assembly.
