Just wondering if they might let me have one.

There's only one way to find out, and that's to ask them. I'm also pretty sure there's a 1:48 resin replacement available from someone if there isn't.

I'm going to ignore the fact that's almost a request for spare parts, but would advise that asking for spare parts is usually done in the wanted area, which is available to members with 100 posts or more.  it's a rite of passage.

An alternative might be a Heller nosecone - their 1/72nd kit comes with both a radar nose cone and a chisel recce photo nose.

I'm not sure how it'll match the Airfix contours, but it might be worth a shot.

Cheers,

Andre

There's always the Maestro Models one for the 1/72 Heller kit:

If it's the 1/48 ex-ESCI kit, there's this one:

I'm sure that with a bit of fettling and filler it could be made to fit the Airfix fuselage (whichever scale you're after ;)).

Actually, do not invest in a nose for the airfix kit.... get a Tarangus/ Special hobby one! Whatever scale.....

That would obviously result in a better model, but the original poster appears to be keen on finishing his Airfix.

@ Plastic_parts: I may be able to take a dive in the farflung and dangerous end of the spare bits maelstrom, but not until next weekend at the earliest.

Cheers,

Since the poster stated "their * original *Saab Viggen", I take it to be 1/72nd.

I may have a spare Heller nose somewhere that might be made to fit.

Andre
