Is counselling being offered to the local population ?

Thanks Pat...we're still getting over that one.

Well, I've just checked to see if I had already signed up for this GB, and I haven't, so please count me in

Dunno what I'm going to build yet, I've got Huma's 1/48 Flettner Kolibri (but I see you're doing one of those), Revell's reboxing of Zvezda's Mi-26 (if I built this I may even splash out on the Begemot decal sheet),

Amusing Hobby's Focke-Wulf Triebfluegel,  and a Sword 1/72 Harrier T.4 that intimidates me.

So I'll build something, I think the big Mil is calling me . . .

Just picked this up, it was a tenner inc postage, and I love space and all things related to it, so how could I not buy it.  I now have the option of three kits to build, with the plan of getting all three done if possible.

Hi @Fifer54

Please don't worry about what anyone else is building, just go with what takes your fancy.

I don't mind changing my build if that's putting anyone off joining the GB.

I have something in reserve that's completely bonkers to fall back on !

Cheers Pat

🤤

Long time ago, I  saw something like this:

😁

"Faithful road

go comrades!"(c):

d3f3b80795475518837e1aa650b30c08.jpg

😁😁

Next stage* - wine**(?):

😉😁

B.R.

Serge

__________

* - wine from barrels

I did not meet , but I had meet and

to buy 96% drinking alcohol from the barrel, during the collapse of the USSR , when was problem with vodka.

** - some even make a model dry wine barrel:

scale_1200

https://zen.yandex.ru/media/modelstroy/suhoe-vino-na-razliv-v-sssr-5d2a2cd331878200ad93c946

but such a model is unlikely for GB "Vertical take-off", it is probably the best for GB "Ground technic" ..... however 🤔.....if the wine in the barrel is spoiled, 🤔..it may be suitable for a diorama:"Vertical take-off"!

😉😁

By the way, after the GB ends, on December 19

will be premiere

the movie "The Sky is Measured by Mil's":

and then a 4-episode series should be released.  It’s likely that closer to the release of the film, the number of trailers and information about the film will increase, it is likely that the emergence of new information will help those who are going to take part in this GB with a Soviet

autogyro or helicopter.

which is don't speak Russian in both alphabets to save you looking it up !

In short, no.

To explain the reasons  need to write a very long time .... but I will try to do this briefly.

The problem is that the films that are being shot now, recently in the post-Soviet territory, are not intended for any viewer at all and in most cases fail.

How it works?  The Ministry of Culture allocates money to a film studio, a lot of money, they make a film for little money, put the difference in their pocket and thank the ministry.  The film is planned to become unprofitable, no one can prove corruption and theft.  How? Suppose you need to shoot a Tiger tank model in a movie that will die.  You order a model for £1000 , but according to all your documents your model of a Tiger tank costs £100,000 ! After which, your Tiger tank safely burns out in the film, and the film must be unprofitable and fail, so that when they come to you with a check about the use of money (remember, we make movies for the money of the state!) you saying:

"Tiger was? Was!! Was look at movie!!!

Is the Tiger burned out?  Burned out!

Look at movie!!!

Documents are there that a tiger costs £100,000?  There is!  Here they are! What are my complaints?  The film did not pay off?  The screenwriter is bad!  Actors are bad!  I will no longer shoot these actors and hire this screenwriter!  And in general, I’m a brilliant director and modern viewers do not understand anything in the movie, and in my genius! "😁

Naturally everyone says bad movie, bad director, but £100'000 - £ 1'000 = £ 99'000 PROFIT !!! 😁😎

And this is only on one conditional Tiger, and if there are a lot of such conditional Tigers in the film?😉😁 Therefore, for those who make such films, it does not matter what the script is in the film, how well the dialogs are written, everything goes according to one scenario - the main character is a loner, opposes the entire totalitarian system, he is definitely opposed by the Communist Party and personally Stalin / Beria / Khrushchev /  Brezhnev (optionally for choice), stupid bosses of all levels, and certainly (!) absolutely dumb, brutal, idiotic employee NKVD/KGB (optionally).

Of course, the majority of viewers who watch it compare it with their memories of that time, compare it with what his parents told him about that time .... and, as expected, votes with their feet as the result of the film fails.

For all this, the technical side of the film can be made believable enough, because

the film can be advised by historical reenactors, "modeller's- riveters", historians, e.t.c.

Therefore, I wrote that perhaps the film will be useful for modelers.

At the same time, I can not fail to note that the actor playing Miles - Eugene Stychkin, as the actor playing Kamov - Merzlikin, in my opinion are not bad actors, and the actor playing Sikorsky - Rappoport, even shot in some Hollywood films.

But.....but the recently released film "Kalashnikov" of the same director who makes this film, just contains almost all the stereotypes that I indicated above.

Therefore, dear Pat, do You really need subtitles for this film?🤔

Thus, I also answered Tony@The Baron

in other topic the question about modern post-Soviet cinema.  Of course, since the collapse of the USSR, a number of faulty, but interesting and worthy films have been shot, but the story about them is beyond the scope of the question You asked.

B.R.

Serge

P.S. I didn’t write any insider here, all of this is known on the Russian Internet, for example, in the top reviews on YouTube of Badcomedian - Evgeny Bazhenov (about 3,000,000 YouTube subscribers)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BadComedian

where it’s all ridiculed in regular reviews on YouTube by Dmitry Puchkov -Goblin

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dmitry_Puchkov

(don't remember ...

about 1,000,000 YouTube subscribers ?)

and many others.

Naturally, this is practically inaccessible in the Western audiences, because all this reviews on Russian.

Thanks, Enzo, I do realise that, I just prefer  not to duplicate entries if I can. I think my big Mil Mi-28 Halo is calling out to be built, even though its size will make it a Major Project. If I finish before the end of the GB, I may

do another helo, maybe the Flettner (what a fascinating machine!)

Lucky I stopped by to read this and check the play list. I just started an Airfix Lynx with just a few parts glued in place for the flight deck. So this will be my entry. Planning to finish it as the Endurance Antarctic  one.
