Saab S35E Draken Svenska Flygvapnet Spaningsplan

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

Just finished another swedish jet a few days ago. It´s a conversion from Hasegawas J35F to a S35E using a lot of Maestro Models nice stuff.

I used etched parts for the cockpit, a new nose and extra fuel tanks, a KB pod, the RWR pods under the wings and the complete tailcone. From Pavla came a new vacu formed canopy, from Pilot Replicas the pilot and from Hasegawa the ground crew member. The ladder is also an etches part from Maestro.

Most excellent Draken!

Your base is great, too. Could you describe please how you did it?

The base was painted with indoor dispersion and strewed with milled salt. Caused by the humidity of the paint the salt clumped and gave the irregular look of the surface.

Drakkens were such cool looking aircraft. Your scene really captures it's odd and very awesome lines.

Love the figures you added!

A rare subject to see in model form and what a superb result! The snow diorama base sets off the scene perfectly, really well done.

Hello there,

What can I add to all the comments above.

Small but very impressive and realistic dio, that shows the harsh conditions under witch the Swedish Air Force has to operate.

Thank you all guys. I´m really glad the base came out this good and let some of you feel the swedish winter.:cold:

No guns, it´s a Spaningsdraken, there were two cameras instead of the guns.😉

Excellent work! :) Just one thing, the metal, leading edges do not follow that panel line, it is not triangular shaped, if you know what I mean, but follows the leading edge the same all the way.

Minor thing and i would leave it, but for the next one? ;)

No, Alfisti has done it right. The S35E panel for the SKa24 wing camera is that shape.

Love the Draken. Great job 👍

I see what you meaning, the leading edge should be much slimer. Will have a look at this detail when building my next Draken. Thanks for your advice.
